i put mine 2 feet apart and they'll be battling for space...(I grow more bushy, 3 or 4 feet tall by 3 feet wide kinda plants) and a 1.2 meter sq setup (4 X 4 feet....yes I had to google that) would probably fit 4 plants very tightly.
you got nothing to worry about. Of the options you stated above, the indoors sun just doesn't work the same even though it helps. When I'm home I put them in the sun and pull them back into the shade every so often, but the morning sun i find is the best method for the first few days. I put a...
good looking plants. are those garbage bags inside of the two containers you have there? good to see a previous years plant doing well this year....and you brought it in with no aphid problems? Very nice.
i have to agree. a location with a bit of morning sun to start has worked best for me this year. I definitely wouldn't start them off in mid-day sun for even an hour if they're not used to it. In less than a week they'll be fine if you can give them a bit more each day. Overcast days are...
I have the potting and seeding mix as well as the BX and HP. I haven't found any twigs in any of them. Seems strange, but it'll happen. It's the soils where there are tonnes of twigs that aren't the greatest to deal with.
that's awesome news. first pepper! what kind is it? where there's 1, there's many to follow. congrats! Hope the damage from that storm didn't set you back. You've had some weather issues to deal with so far, but looks like you're pulling through nicely. good stuff.
agree. The window one may not look as dense and bushy, but it's stretching out quite a bit more. I think you'll be much more impressed with that one in another month from now. Both look great though.
I second your rant. I used the jiffy peat pots last year and for a bunch this year before I smartened up and changed to plastic. what a difference I noticed when I got away from peat pots. they fall apart, they're moldy, and they dry up too quickly. The roots grow into the pots (and through...
it's never pretty to see our hard work damaged, especially if the top 2/3rds of the main stem gets chopped! The side growth is at least under way so I'm hoping for the best for you on that choco bhut. It'll definitely improve overall growth to chop off damaged leaves and since you've already...
thanks guys. I put a lot of your experience and advice to work for me this year and with some help from the weather things are really taking off.
up here you have to get an early start. perhaps I started a bit too early considering I had 2 gallon pots getting rootbound by May. But nice to...
awesome! I've been a Hawks fan since I was 10 and after the years of them being at the bottom of the barrel it's nice to see them on top finally. Big game tonight!
Thanks my friend. it's definitely turning out to be an awesome spring and is certainly making up for last year. Lots of great...
Bishops Crown. love these pods.
Pumpkin Hab. was expecting it to be just an orange hab but they're growing much rounder.
Aji Limon. Pods grow super fast on this one.
June 6th and massive amounts of pods! That's what I like to see. It's gong to be great season!
a pepper joes scotch bonnet. not sure about this one. every pod looks different. cool looking pods though.
scorpion pods. lots of pods forming like this. looks like some stingers on the way!
Caribbean Red. ripening any day now.
choco bhut. first ripening pods of the season!
a few pod pic updates:
Mustard hab - love the pods on this one.
tasmanian hab
what was supposed to be a red bhut. not sure what it is but might end up being a cool bhut cross. tonnes and tonnes of pods.
Poblano
Totally agree. I love that.
I make my own hab mustards from mustard seed or powder and also garlic pesto with peppers blended in. I'm looking forward to a bhut pesto this year. There isn't a condiment I use that isn't spiced up. hot mustard is just too good.
