    Congo peppers

I just read an article saying how extremely hot and pungent these peppers are. Unfortunately in Trinidad congo means anything large and powerful so it's hard to pin point which pepper they are talking about. Oh and this is from Dave DeWitt so no BS. I'm sure it's less hot then Naga but what got...

    Light Questions

From experience I can tell you that the cheapest HPS lamp combined with a T5 HO 54 watts actinic plus works perfectly if not superior or equal to the very expensive hortilux blue. The HPS bulb is about 20$, 24$ for the actinic tube and 35$ for the T5 fixture. HPS GE Lucalox T5 POWERCHROME...

    Light Questions

They are better then regular HPS but they remain HPS i.e. mostly yellow light. Growlux is one of the best HPS lamps to buy dollar/performance but not what you want to grow peppers. NO The only thing you can buy that is close to 5500K-6500K is the Hortilux MH blue.

    This years lineup...

I'm not too happy with the choice of pepper for the 2008 chileman.org growing competition this year. They are just too many hybrid jalapeno out there. I think most people will be growing hybrids (crosses) of jalapeno and in my book any hybrid is not a real jalapeno. So how will chileman control...

    hot-sauce Frank's hot

I love this sauce just wish it had more heat to it, it's made with cayenne peppers. You can really taste the of the fermentation ooooohhh so yummy... Funny thing is it's very close to the hot sauce I make at home. Mine taste better :) (made with habs)but it takes 6-8 weeks to make and vanishes...

    At war with pepper maggots

Interesting! I wonder if you eat the maggot if it tastes hot? You could powder the maggots and sell hot pepper sauce with a small bag of maggot dust. Kinda like a what they do with Mezcal. humm..... http://www.mezcal.com/worms.html

    what's you're plan for 2008?

Small list but a good choice. Naga and orange hab are prolific plants and produce very tasty and blistering hot pods. If I could only grow one hab I would choose Caribbean hab but that's just my preference.
