    Rotting Fruit

gardenkiller the pics looks very similar to the problem I had with the Big Jim. It started to happened when I neglected (was on vacation for 2 weeks) my hydro setup. The hydro solution was not changed for more then a month and probably lacking in nutrients. All this was under artificial light so...

1st habanero didn't melt my face

The theory is that when a pepper is fully mature (at the green stage just before changing color) it's at it's peak level of heat. When the pepper ripens more it's developing more flavors and more sugar but not more heat.

Ok now I'm even more confused. I gave a Red Caribbean Habanero plant to my brother in law. The plant was fully matured and was previously in my hydro setup. seeds seeds and nbr days to ripe fruit

When you look at seeds they say bla bla then something like 90 days. That's the question what does the 90 days mean? http://www.tomatogrowers.com/hot2.htm Habanero (Red) #9586 (30 seeds) $2.20 This bright red version of Habanero is one hot pepper - a staggering 285,000 Scoville units! The...

seeds seeds and nbr days to ripe fruit

AH! I think you're right. So for an orange hab rated at 90 days, it would take 156 days (7*8 weeks + 90) from seed to fruit. Sounds like BS to me.Takes way longer then this. But what do I know. Well next year I'm starting the Habs January 1st. This year I started March 15th (8 weeks before last...

seeds seeds and nbr days to ripe fruit

When you buy seeds and on the package it says 90 days. What exactly does it mean? 90 days to get mature fruit from seeds. 90 days from immature fruit until ripen? 90 days from when the flower is pollinated to ripen fruit? 90 days from when the flower is pollinated to mature but unripe fruit? I...

    fertilizer when to fertilize

It depends where you are growing the plants. If in containers you should fertilize on a regular schedule. If it's in a garden with lots of compost and manure, at this stage you should use a slow release tomato fert. You can use miracle gro type of fert but be careful of the N-P-K values. When...

    pics some new Jalabanero pics

Very cool. What are you trying to achieve with the Jalabanero ? More heat, taste, bigger pods? At some point you will need to define the "Jalabanero" and only select the pods that meet the criteria for the future F3. Jal is about 75 days and habs 90 days. How long does it take to have mature...

    Bonsai Habs...2nd generation

Does anyone have a link that explains what happens to the plant when it's cloned? I always though that a clone makes an exact copy of the parent without any change to size or fruits of the clone. I want to try this with a tomato plant any idea if it would work?
