seeds Soft white cfls ok for starting seedlings?

I have a bunch of differnt temp lights and I've found that the 6500K temp (daylight) to do the best job. I have a soft white right now as well but I only use it in conjunction with another daylight type as I've found it just doesn't promote growth quite the same. If you're just using it for...

    Aji Limon

From what I've seen, I believe Aji Limo is a chinense. Also the peppers have a different shape (stubbier and fatter) than Aji Limon. I'm pretty sure they're different.

Sample Label For Hot Sauce Bottle

that is really cool. I'd buy the sauce if that label was on it.

    Aji Limon

Yes, the naming gets confusing. I grew the Hot Lemon last year and it was annuum. I never heard of it being refered to as a baccatum, but with the similarity in names, as well as the look I can see how it's easy to get all the naming mixed up. This year I'm growing Aji Limon so I'm looking...

    Pepper Joe's

I bought about 6 varieties from them this year. The germination rate of their seeds were great and the plants are growing well so far. Although I've heard people have ordered peppers that turned out not to be true to form of what they ordered. Hopefully that's not the case with mine.

    Aji Limon

Not the same pepper. Hot Lemon is an annuum and Aji Limon (and Lemon Drop) are Baccatum. Although I believe they are very similar in taste / heat.

    Boondock Saints 2

I agree with Millworkman. First one was awesome, but the second one I could barely make it through. Cheesy is an understatement.

lighting Whats better...longer hours of weaker lighting or shorter hours of actual sunlight?

i would say the sunlight is better. Just like yourself, now that we've been getting quite a bit of sun during the day through the southern windows, I've relied on that for lighting and haven't used any flourescents (will only use lights on cloudy days now). The plants respond much better to...

Trinidad Scorpion Appreciation Grow Event 2010

nice job Patrick! good pics of the roots too. Now I know what mine must be doing. That plant will be loving the extra space so get ready for a growth spurt and some massive payback later down the line.

    2010 Grow Thread Begins

I hear ya. I didn't want to pot up again either, but after seeing that massive root growth you've got going on, I think it's inevitable what we need to. 2 more months (2.5 for me) is a long time when you think about how it's only been 2 or so months since conception and look how far they've...

    2010 Grow Thread Begins

awesome Patrick. Those things are green and healthy. Man they're going to love being outdoors when the time comes. Seems that you and me are right on par with each other. Are you planning on potting up your larger ones out of the red cups? I have a bunch that size as well and I'm thinking...

seeds When do you finish planting chile seeds?

I started Chinenses the beginning of Jan. Annuums in Feb (beg - mid). Probably a bit early, but those suckers will be potted up twice into 1 gallons containers so they'll be well over 1 foot by plant out time. I finished a few seeds end of Feb so they'll be a bit behind the others. It's a...

Whats Up For You This Growing Week?

finished potting up the last of my 100 red cups. bought a new light and am getting ready to start potting up my 60 keepers to 1 gallon containers by weeks end. If I can pull this off I'm going to have some huge plants to start off with come plant out time.

seeds Can't get 80f exactly to germinate

Either should work for you just fine. My setup fluctuates and goes higher than 85, but your range is definitely good. If you had to choose, I'd go with 85 which is pretty much a perfect temp IMO....soil temp.

Trinidad Scorpion Appreciation Grow Event 2010

If only I had that option. I have 25 varieties of peppers and I germinated about 8 of each to keep the best ones. I'll Keep 2 or 3 of each in gardens that can hold about 30. Plus 30 Containers. I'll be pushing the limits as it is. Hate to see any of them go, but at least I know I'm...
