    soil Quarts as soil supplement?

I read here not a while ago about silicate being an important mineral for plants and that soils and ferts usually lacks it. So I was thinking about taking quarts crystals, crushing them into power like form and adding it to the soil/water. Any opinions? I made the powder but still hadn't tried...

    Need help saving my bhuts

As long as the soil is not dry the plants will be fine, I know I'm not underwatering them because they may be wilting at noon but after noon they are fine. Also here its around 95+ degrees and it will only get hotter. I'm afraid that by watering them every other day they will be overwatered. Tho...

    Need help saving my bhuts

I watered them every 1.5-2 weeks so I don't think its overwatering, also it looks like the soil drains well. I didn't mix compost with this soil so maybe changing the soil and mixing it with 30% compost will help.

    Need help saving my bhuts

At the start of the week 2 days after I watered/fert the bhuts they start getting brown dots on their leaves. A day after healthy leaves start to drop in numbers so I used air conditioner water to wash the soil from some of the ferts and drained it as best as I could. Now they really look like...

breeding Can sweet banna peppers cross with jalapeƱos?

Simply to explain it the cross seed genes comes from the pollination but the fruit's genes are the same as the mother plant, so basically the fruit still has the pure genes and will look as any other fruit on the plant regardless to what pollinated it.

Best way to prevent plant wilt

Also to test how hot the soil is you could stick sticks in different areas and in the middle of the day pull them out and feel them to get an estimate of the soil temperature in that area.

Best way to prevent plant wilt

here its around 95-100 every day and my plants are always wilt in the morning-noon and are fine once the sun is gone. Also I only water them every 2 weeks or so(they are potted as well). You could also just paint the pots white like I did.

    adding egg shells

In the vinegar you can put as many as you, the more you add the more vinegar you'll have to add and the more cycles it will take before everything is dissolved. You could put as many as you got in vinegar wait till bubbles stop showing when you shake it, then take the liquid out and use it with...

    Bhut Jolokia Pruning Experiment

Just remember that even if the plants had exactly the same conditions beside the pruning the probably still have different genetics. You cant get to a clear mechanism without repeats that shows the same results. The idea of this working this way may be nice but to be sure we need more data and...

    adding egg shells

I have actually read a lot on this subject and have a few pointers. - Eggshells take a lot of time to dissolve in the ground before it can be taken up by the plant, tho if the soil is acidic it will speed up the process and will also balance the soil's PH. - I personally put the egg shells in...
