Kiwi Wing Sauce to Try Out

Not at all really. Gives it a touch of sweetness which I like and a whole lot of spice. A nice even burn, and the tanginess of the vinegara nd lemon. Just gotta knock that tanginess down a little as it's just a bit overpowering.

Kiwi Wing Sauce to Try Out

I got creative and wanted to make a new wing sauce. I have never seen anyone use kiwi like I've seen mango, pineapple, ect so I felt it'd make a good idea. I've never really made my own sauce that worked well as something other than a chunky puree so I felt I should post what I did and see what...

    BEER!

Tonight, thanks to Tkromer's mention Dogfish Head's Punkin ale. Good pumpkin beer with notes primarily of cinnamon and nutmeg. Also, a surprise from my fiance, New Holland's Ichabod. Another pumpkin beer that was fairly similar in taste to the Punkin' Ale but had a bit more taste of ginger and...

    Will they grow?

Shaking them does work. Using a Q-tip has advtanges of focusing on each flower versus hitting them in one stride. Could also use a fan as it will also keep moving air when you water them (which you will do MUCH less) And I agree on the lights. Winter here doesn't give nearly enough light...

preservation How long do I leave my Habs in the dehydrator?

I usually go for 135 degrees. Time always depends on a million variables (pod type, size, half/whole/quarter cut, ect) I'll never do habs whole again, took nearly 2 days versus 1-16 hours halved.

    Will they grow?

Personally I wouldn't expect any pods for that. The light levels would probably be too low. Also, if flowers did form, gotta pollinate them by hand.

    Seed Prep for next year

Dehydrator seed drying can be a dangerous process as the heat level, if not done right, can kill the seeds. I read that you want to keep it at or around 95 degrees, I believe, which will make the drying process still take a long time. You're really better off just drying them on a paper towel...

    Will they grow?

If the house is relatively warm and the windows aren't drafty like mine. It probably won't be the most attractive plant but it'll grow.

    Hitting The Beer Market

Last but certainly not least of this score's beer reviews. New Holland's lovely brew 'Dragon's Milk'. For whatever reason it paired well with Aerosmith's rune 'Eat the Rich'. Not sure why but it just really did. Anyway.. onto the review. Another beer tar-like black beer. This one had very...

    Hitting The Beer Market

I'll definitely be getting more of the Hoppin' Frog brews. Tonight will be the Dragon's Milk if I'm feeling up to it. Haven't felt well today and I can't try a beer unless I feel perfectly well for it. Wouldn't want nausea to take away from the flavor afterall. I'm really looking forward to it...

Tabascos are ripening and new flowers appearing

Agreed with Geeme, don't give up on the watering yet. Keep watering when they dry like usual. Your peppers will grow and ripen just fine.

    Hitting The Beer Market

Tonight's the Hoppin Frog. BORIS (Bodacious Oatmeal Russian Imperial Stout) is the type. Truly it sounds like a beer taken from the movie 'Wayne's World' but I felt I needed to give this beer a good try being from a brewer in Akron , Ohio. This beer pours a thick black with a fast disipating...

    BEER!

Was considering picking up the Sierra Nevada stout myself. I love the rest of their brews afterall. Does it live up to expectations?

    Hitting The Beer Market

I absolutely hated Arrogant Bastard. To me, it tasted much like the mango flavored tropical starburst mixed with alcohol. Maybe one day I'll give it another shot but I was so angry when I took the first drink. My fiance had suggested it to me as a beer that 'fully describes me' Lol.

    Hitting The Beer Market

Followed Nosferatu with the Shipyard 'Smashed Pumpkin' ale. Had a medium head, much moreso than the 'Pumpkinhead' ale by the same company. Tasted mostly of cinnamon and nutmeg with a bit of actual pumpkin flavor. The size of the bottle afforded me ample beer to try from the bottle and from...

    Hitting The Beer Market

Nosferatu is totally as advertised. 'Beer with a bite' indeed. Pours a deep reddish brown, almost like a dark blood red. Had a head a mile high. Smooth texture and then just packs a wallop with a bitter bite. Made me cringe on the first drink. Contains a very basic taste and aroma. Doesn't get...
