I still use some old MiracleGro water soluable fert. Often is less about brand and more about what it contains. Other than your basic 10/10/10 some fish emulsion and epsom salt are great items to keep around.
With how random the weather has been and how annoying my dogs have been by getting in my garden, I've shifted towards growing in buckets. It seems to work for so many of you so I might as well give it a shot. I've also realized my garden soil conditioning came out subpar at best so I'll be...
As long as they're kept away from light, moisture, and extreme temperatures, they can last for years. I would say 5 years is a good limit to put on yourself, but they can remain good for ages. Ziplock bags are great storage but I wouldn't rely on them for too many years. Just keep them dry...
You could just switch out the soil if you think you overwatered them. Especially if it's in that small of a pot. Or let it dry cuz it may have locked the nutrients out if the soil is sopping wet.
Serranos are fairly hot and have a taste that resembles a hotter jalapeno.. And boy do they produce a TON of pods per plant. I harvested hundreds upon hundreds on a mere 4 plants last year. Anaheim's produce fewer pods but make up for it in size, and taste wonderful.
Caribbean Red is the most common Bhut switch. And that definitaly looks like one. And I gotta agree those look like aphid carcases. And it looks like a live one on the left side of the pepper. And some others on the branch above the pepper. It's like looking for Waldo.
I found two mounds in my garden yesterday. And it does seem like more than I had last year. I've never had aphids in my garden either (but have had em in pots). I know they do control some pests but are linked to aphids. It's something I've been at ends with myself.
