Hey Joe. Are you growing them in the ground or in containers? I couldn't get a single POT grown rocoto to set a single pod two years in a row. The two plants in the ground had no problems. Others have had no trouble growing them in pots so who knows.
It is kind of a random mix of things. I started growing in 2008 and put in that smaller square bed. It was only 6" high. I picked up bags of topsoil from Home Depot. I also picked up a few bags of Miracle Gro Organic Garden Soil. Then in 2009 I made that bed 12" high. I filled it up with...
I don't know if I read all of them but I want everyone to know that I appreciate all the nice comments you left. They were lost when the server went down. I didn't get the chance to log on and respond but I do remember a few.
I am sorry but I do not remember who commented on the pre-made...

Well, my last update appears to have been lost to the ether when the server went down. Basically I pointed out how I have been experiencing a lot of breaking branches on my plants. I have not done anything different this year so I cannot account for this change. Several plants are missing...
Hmm not really sure what the problem is but I cannot get the links to work here. You can click the links and then add "www." to the URL to see the images though.
Seriously. If he can grow as well as he can in containers I cannot imagine what he could do it rich soil where the plants could really spread their roots.
You rock. That garden is awesome. Harvesting is going to be a little tricky though.
Any chance you can snap a picture of a Douglah X Scorpion pod? I just wanted to compare it to mine.
Thank you very much. I have had a few hiccups this season but the plants are still doing well.
Thanks. Yes it is. Some of the pods are a bit wavy. I wonder what it crossed with.
Thanks a lot. It is almost the best time of the year. The plants already have a bunch of pods but I don't have a whole lot of ripening going on. At least not with the C. Chinense varieties. In the coming weeks that will change though.
Thanks. I actually haven't tried a pod yet but I love...
Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone knows what happened to Mike? He hasn't been on since June. I guess he could be busy but I was just surprised he hasn't posted or been online in such a long time.
Your plants look great.
How is the isolation going? Setting a lot of flowers? I imagine this heat isn't helping. My double wide bags are working better than the old ones but with these high temps there has been a lot of flower drop.
Pretty much the same as everyone else. My plants are doing fine but I am experiencing flower drop. That is to be expected though with temps over 100. Monday-Wednesday it is supposed to dip back down into the 80's so I am looking forward to that. Then it looks like more 90's. This summer...
