Yeah, I usually remove the leaf they're on and stomp on them for a quick death. According to the NG site, they starve to death which I'm sure isn't fun but not as bad as being eaten alive. Probably. Awesome! I didn't know that the cocoons were coming out of the hornworm - so it's been...

    Colour change?

So... how can you tell when it's ripe - besides tasting it? My long choc habs are stuck in half-ripe mode for what seems like forever. I'll have 5 of them soon though. Soooon my pretties!

Yeah, I left this one alone instead of squishing it like... a bug. He may have been in that condition for a couple of days already so it shouldn't be long before I see results. The worm barely responded to my poking ... so it ain't feeling too good.

I saw the strangest thing this morning when I was tracking down hornworms... This has got to be some predatory insect that laid its eggs on the hornworm, right? Like maybe the assasin bug or a predatory wasp?

    "Seasoning" my pallette

I tasted some of the red hab concentrate I made yesterday - with red wine vinegar this time - and I could actually TASTE it even after the heat hit. Was not a good idea to do with an empty stomach though.

    preservation Drying peppers

    Omri's Growing List

Lovely specimen you got there. Pigeon droppings didn't do it any harm. I used to hate mosquitoes until I met chiggers. They're about 100x worse so skeeters don't seem so bad now. Poison ivy/oak however is still the worst.

    My first everythings :)

No peppers were harmed in the making of that video? Whew! That's some seriously scary stuff there. Those giant cranes fall out of the sky on a regular basis it seems. Oh and nice peppers!

    Why so many pods?

I get tiny ripe pods similar to those in the pic in cold weather and usually they have no seeds - so the pollen must have been sterile or something, yet the pod didn't abort. Oh and the tiny ones are HOT.
