Very true, however I know these guys to advocate a moritorium on some species when they do need it. No not ALL of the captains are like that for sure, a lot have the fish it til it's gone and then move on to something else, idea, but a lot of them are getting more conservation minded. No doubt...

Trying to find stuff at Lowes/ Wally World that will work as a container (for plant, not water) and growing medium. Really hate to have to order it all from a hydro store...but will. Any suggestions?

And do we base this off of what NOAA tells us or what the commercial/charter captains that routinely fish these species every day tell us? ;)....a big difference....remember lobbyist and agendas...i know of a couple prime examples right now There are still plenty of swords....albeit maybe not...

Thanks Treemanjohn for the reference. Would hate to go to the effort and sacrafice the taste. Would however love to have a flourishing year round hydro plant though. Especially some hydro superhots, but not if it's taking away from the heat itsself. So many decisions, so little time lol.

Try the Burpee Super Grow Pellets...theyre made for cells and have no netting...they stay as wet for dry as you want them to be...of course they are water activated but have great moisture control...I tried those after reading some of the reviews about the Jiffys on here and not finding the...

Just wanted to comment on the paper towel method....I doubt I will even try anything else but moist coffee filters in baggies next year. I used both Burpee Super Growing Pellets with great results and also tried the coffee filter method. Both worked great, but so far Im having better results...

Cant argue results. Any tips on the best sources for hydro supplies? i.e. nutrients (should I choose to go with something else), net cups (or an alternative), and rockwool (or alternative). Closest hydro store is about 30 miles that I know of, so shipping would probably be cheaper than round...

yep with the tuna....you just want it to see the flame...rare is good. Tuna is one of those meats often over cooked (like shrimp) and not much good when it is.

Wiz that sounds like a good idea. Just trying it on a budget for right now....getting my feet wet so to speak. Dont want to skimp so much as to take away from the potential benefits and not give it a fair shake, just see how it goes and go from there as needed.

Tossing the idea of a DWC system with fish in it. I have read where the taste dwindles though? Not sure. Nutrients seem high for DWC...seems like a cheap organic substitute.

wahoo, mahi mahi, white perch, grouper, snapper...all great white flesh fish that are good to build off of as far as taste.....personally, an easy and delicious one is blackened grouper.

Same order as they germinated in the peat. The fataliis and bhut jolokias are yet to sprout in either...

How much would aero differ from dwc in terms of plant health and growth rates. Everything else being equal.
