    SV's 2010 Garden List

Thanks :D Sunday I pulled this plant up by the roots and was headed to woods and just happened to notice what looked like a little pod. It is almost 5' tall and totally different than every other plant so I planted it in a five gallon bucket and watered it good. It is very soft looking, light...

    SV's 2010 Garden List

I filled a gallon ice cream tub with Orange Hab's tonight, also plucked one Fatali and noticed there are two orange Tabasco's so the plant should look real colorful in a week or so. Those Tabasco's are hot but not a lot of taste to me anyway. Here are some updated pic's of the Hab's with a crazy...

    harvesting Harvest Time

Done :D I was missing rings and should have bought a gallon of vinegar instead of 1/2 gallon; I have peppers for at least five more jars. A mistake I made *again* is not packing the peppers tight enough, I could have added a few more to each jar. The first five jars are Hot Cherry with purple...

    harvesting Harvest Time

Thanks! Here is another picture from this morning, the Orange Habanero plants are just cranking pods. I would guess there are more than a hundred green pods on the six plants now. I picked up vinegar, lids and salt so I will be pickling peppers this morning.

    harvesting Harvest Time

Thanks everyone... 6 Habs, 2 Fatali, 2 Scotch Bonnets, 2 7 Pods, 2 Lumbre and I believe 4 Hot Cherry's. I am not sure what I will do with the Fatali's, probably dice them up for Pico. I have a bunch of Tabasco but they are all green and a few Jap's but not many pods. I do plan on roasting...

    First ripe 7 Pot/Pod with a picture

I hurried out to check the pods when I got home from work and one of the 7 Pot's was 99% yellow so I plucked it. I went to my Uncle's to share it with him and my oldest cousin. I sliced it in half and saved the seeds and then sliced the larger piece into quarters. I didn't have the balls to eat...

Did I get lucky and grow a Bhut Jolokia???

Patrick, the taste was excellent, should they be hotter than Hab's on average? Choc Hab, I saw another ripe one this morning so I will post a picture this afternoon. I am so STOKED!!!!

Did I get lucky and grow a Bhut Jolokia???

I got home from work this afternoon and as usual, walked around the raised beds to look at the pods. One of these Fatali's was BRIGHT yellow so I plucked it from the plant and put it in my pocket. The family was meeting for dinner to celebrate my cousins birthday and I sliced that baby up for...

    pests Under Attack!!! Leaffooted Bugs

I went out this afternoon to turn on the soaker hose and I did not see a single Leaf-footed bug after spraying on Wednesday. I am taking a short trip tomorrow so I will check again Sunday morning and may reapply the Permethrin if I see stragglers.

Did I get lucky and grow a Bhut Jolokia???

They are medium green, a little lighter than a bell. The pictures are in full sun but in complete shade from the plants. I will post updated pictures after they start changing, I just want to taste one :D

    pests Under Attack!!! Leaffooted Bugs

They are going after the peppers too but I have not seen the same damage as the tomatos which are flat gross looking. No guilt dude, this is all for fun and no profit... :D I picked up the Permethrin concentrate last night but my water hose sprayer attachment was missing the siphon straw and...

Did I get lucky and grow a Bhut Jolokia???

Patrick, As a matter of fact yes, I noticed one pod turning yellow from the top, so Fatalii? And the bumpy look could be typical when growing open pollinated seeds, correct?

scovilles Is there an *estimated* Scoville list with the new strains listed?

I commented a while back that Bhut Jolokia's are listed as the worlds hottest pepper but members here say no way, T Scorpions, Fatali etc are far hotter...I think the comment was "we don't need a Scoville Scale to tell us what is the hottest pepper, your tongue will". And it was also mentioned...

trade Thinking about 2011, here is my list of seeds available for trade...

Gentlemen, I have possibly 6 total of some of the seeds listed but I am more than happy to pass them on. I think Orange Scotch Bonnet are one of those varieties. I do however, have about 20 pods on the plant and will send seeds from a pod if you want to try to save those seeds. I will check...

    pests Under Attack!!! Leaffooted Bugs

I bought Permethrin on the way back from one of our jobsites, the concentrate that I can use in my hose sprayer so I should get better coverage. I am thinking I will spray around 5:00 when I get home and one more time around twilight to catch the stragglers that call my peppers and tomatoes home.
