Some of mine did that also. After the first set of true leaves sprouted, they started looking normal again.

Dismal Year for Growing So Far

Same here svcook. We've had WAY too much rain fall this Spring. Storms have been pretty bad also. Tornado came through my neighborhood Wed morning and dumped about 3 inches plus took a few trees down. Thank God we were at work and the plants were inside.

    First Time Grower 2011

Well, I think I have hardened off the little guys fairly well now. I let them stay outside in 40-60 degree weather all day yesterday and they survived. Weather forecast looks very promising finally, so I think they are going to stay outside for good. I'm officially down to 24 plants. I had...

    heat hottest pepper???

That's so true. The fact that Guinness took the the single test from Gerald Fowler is mind blowing. The funny thing is that Naga in Hinduism means snake more specifically King Cobra snake. Not much thought was put into the name obviously. Congrats on your King Cobra Viper! ...WTF? tards

Thanks nitwit. I did decide to re-pot my bigger plants today, and I'm glad I did because the roots were starting to come through the holes at the bottom of the dixie cups. I think I officially hit the max limitations of my grow area. What do you think?

    seeds i have my seed..but

I didn't have luck with the paper towel method, however many folks in here swear by it. Ther's also the plastic cup method. I used many methods but the only one that work the best for me was the jiffy greenhouse using a good seed starting soil. I bought a reptile heat mat to speed things up...

What I have learned in 2011

What have I learned? I'm still learning! I would have to say the best thing I've learned so far was soil choice. Just because the weird guy wearing a cowboy hat at the garden center says to use his store brand potting soil for germinating seeds doesnt mean that's what you're supposed to do...

BTW, I checked the pH on the wilting scorp soil and it is 6.5. Also, the soil moisture is just about right.

    First Time Grower 2011

It's been 2 weeks since my last update so I thought I would share what I have going on right now. All my Trinidads are doing great except for one which I can't figure out why. My Bhuts are starting to turn yellow which I gave them some Epsom salt a few days ago which didn't seem to help. How...

    mmcdermott1 Grow List Log 2011

Wow! I can't believe yours started flowering so soon! I'm guessing I will probably do the same since my plants have already been stunted a little from the soil issue I had.

seeds Average Brain Strain Germination Time???

I'm not an expert by any means, however I would say give them more time. My Trinidad scorps took 3 weeks to germinate. I was about to give up them, but all of the sudden they all started sprouting. My Douglahs all germinated in 10 days. Go figure.

    First Time Grower 2011

Weekly update. Well, I can truly say that growing peppers is an art. After a lot of trail and error and taking some great advice from the folk in here, my peppers are finally starting to take off. The soil was my main problem. Once I switched back to a good seed starting soil again, the...

    seeds Seedlings Wilting! Need Help!

thanks muskymojo for pointing out the soil mix issue! That was it. They're rocking and rolling now. I just hope I didn't stunt their growth.

    Slow Growing

That was my problem. I transplanted mine too early to potting mix which SLOWED them down big time and killed a few. Since I have switched to seed mix, they have been growing like crazy. It's my first time so I'll know better next time.

    First Time Grower 2011

I just checked the pH of the soil I'm using, and it's between 6.5 and 7.0. Closer to 6.5. Should I try some fish emulsion and try to boost the nitrogen a little? I'm a total noob at this, so any feedback from you smart people would help out greatly! :D

    First Time Grower 2011

I thought I would give an update of my progress after one week. I was having trouble with about 1/3 of my plants wilting, which I was able to save most of them. Now, the ones that are doing well are starting to slow down and turn yellow. I have been sprinkling a couple of Epsom salt crystals...

    seeds Seedlings Wilting! Need Help!

I transplanted them as soon as they started reaching for the sky (about 2 inches). Was this a bad idea? OK, I took your advice and replanted a few of the little ones in Jiffy seed starter mix. I haven't been giving them any nutrients except for a very diluted (4-6 crystals in a 16oz...
