Guru's Garden - Traveling the World in Search of Peppers

Hey Guru. Looks like nice manure. I have a local source of horse manure. Any tips on how to know how far along in the composting process it is. Reluctant to burn plants by applying it to early.

Great to hear you're planting out, even if I'm a little jealous! Best of luck with it!

    ronniedeb's 2015 season

Cheers Devv. Looking frosty for a few days, then rainy and windy, but meant to settle and warm again for Easter. Hopefully it'll be more consistent soon. I wouldn't mind some of your Texas Sun at the moment!

    ronniedeb's 2015 season

Yes. Bluesman is a Finnish member of the chillisgalore.co.uk forum. He found this mutant among his Candlelight (Capsicum Annuum) Peppers. I think he calls it the Sahara Desert Pepper, but must double check that. It's grown like this through a couple of generations. Here are some other photos...

    ronniedeb's 2015 season

Thanks Devv. Still cold here unfortunately.    Well, two weeks since my last update. Really need to think about moving plants out to greenhouse soon. Tomatoes are going out during the day, back in at night (when I remember  )   Overcrowded in Growtent:   Aji Cristal podding:  ...

One last shot at it... DeNNiZ 2015 glog

Things are looking great Denniz. Hope you get that Flexuosum podding soon. I've failed for another year to germinate a partner for my 3 year old plant, still trying though.  Have to admit huacathay was a new one for me. Any uses beyond culinary? Being in the tagetes family, might it have some...

    beer My Homebrews

 A little bit past the homebrew stage then! Very impressive indeed.    My budget is a little restricted. Part time teacher salary, you see. I have a Peco Boiler and multiple bucket fermenters. I guess I can get into all grain brewing with just a supplemental mash tun, right? How are those...

    Stickman's 2015 - That's All She Wrote...

Stefan, I presume you're planting them into the tunnel in early April? Is the tunnel frost free or do you not get frost after early April?     Belated Happy Paddy's Day Rick. Hope you had a good one. I don't think you could get a more Irish looking dinner!

This is a fast moving glog. Everytime I come back I have a couple of pages to go through. I think the Brown Egg is a Bolivian variety: http://www.semillas.de/cgi-bin/shop_en/shop.cgi?shop=&product=Peppers+BC&cart_id=2158508.28690...

Nice video Guru. Seedlings look great, as does your soil mix. Is it a very fine vermiculite you use?

Yes indeed. Winds have changed to Easterlies again, so the frost is back. Not long though.
