    The official SWEET PEPPER thread

Ok folks,    it seems that the sweet peppers get little love here on the THP forum ...   my WAG is that its that many of those are poor producers (been there, done that ... babying a plant to get 2 miserable undersized sweet peppers in a year aint gonna cut it :D)   we need to change this ....  ...

Per se is not bad to have the hottest pepper in the world, but you need to be professional about it. Iow... First kill the bear and then sell its skin (not the other way around) Al

pests do you get those, too? (bugs)

i dont mind them outside ... but I have an inhouse (soil) garden, which is rather dry (I just water around plants) and I suspect that they might chew up my younger plants to just get some water ...   thx, Al

pests do you get those, too? (bugs)

down here, they are called "chanchito de tierra" (soil-piggies)           I understand that technically they aint insects, but crustacios ... but I dont care, I hate their guts ...   they are not very articulate (physically that is) ... so is there a way to impede that they climb my pepper...

pests Aphids - poison them, or just let them be?

I shoot them in the head with a pump-gun on first sight ...     ...then I step on them, burn them, cook them in sulfur acid, burn them again and feed their ashes to the fish.      ... then I deep fry the fish and eat them  :D     cheers, Al

that is exactly my point ... in the few months here, I saw a recurring pattern.   A hyped up latest-and-greatest ... which seem to have germination issues (prob. from the pressure to rush to the money market, where eventually "almost ripe" pods get picked which lead to cr@ppy seeds and...

just see if you can get it on video the next time, and put something along the line of "fire breathing idi0t" into your nick - and you will be on the verge of being an internet diosa :D   kidding aside, I still cant really wrap my mind around using latex gloves when manipulating hots - so I...

It has its limitations - you shoot 100 percent manual w/o live view - so you probably need 3-4 setup shoots for every sujet... Def not candit pics of a party... I'm somewhat setup w/ a split screen insert for manual focusing. Dof is extremely flat that's why you ll try to shoot @ high f (16 or...

Ramón:     I know this link does not help you directly, but in "Nikonlandia" there are dirt cheap "spacers" that allow you to turn 50mm lenses around and use them as macro lense.   http://digital-photography-school.com/reverse-mounting-your-prime-lenses-for-affordable-macro-photography   I have...

thats not the million dollar Q. ... You simply DONT have to worry if you bought seeds from Mr. A ... and Mr. B has this kind of disclaimer running on a different site ...   How in the world should you (joe sixpack) be knowing that A and B have a businness agreement. How should you be knowing...

    Question about final PH

you need to be aware that the ph-scale is logarithmic ...   e.g. ph5 is 10 times more acid than ph6 ... ph4 is 10 times more acid than ph5 (and 100 times as acid as ph6) ... and so on ...   the more acid your product the less likely is it that "bad" bacteria can survive there.   cheers, Al
