Awesome Kat! You got cool co-workers too.
Whenever i pack lunch i'll get a "oh that smells awesome can i try some?" -sure, its pretty spicy though "i Love spicy food" -what's your definition of spicy? Can ya eat a fresh Jalapeno whole? "what?! no way! That's insane!" -you can have some if you...
That would be awesome! I was talking to a woman the other day that just moved from New Mexico and she was just going on and on about Sandia's to the point i almost ordered frozen ones online, $152 for 10 lbs. Good thing my wife saw me looking at them online and confiscated my wallet.
The only place around here that has consistently fresh habaneros is Fairway Markets, 8.99/lb... Jals are 3.29/lb there. They have them cheaper at other places but they're never as fresh.
Same here. That fruity yellow flavor rocks! Cumari and fatalli are at the top of my list and i've always liked the yellow chinenses i've found at supermarkets. My super prolific limons are nice too. Have yet to try a yellow 7. I've got a yellow jamaican SB starting to pod that i'm waiting...
There was an episode of throwdown where they made green chile burgers with hot Numex chiles, the Hatch would work well with that! Do you know if the ones you got were the Sandias?
I was born ready!
White pizza = no tomato sauce + ricotta and mozzarella cheese.
Yup got them from peppermania. Had a rough time with them too. I have one lone survivor out of ten seeds planted. I just took 2 cuttings... Hope they keep! I'm liking these alot.
Glad they all arrived safely. These are moving up the list on my favorite peppers. Hot enough to enjoy but not so hot that you need to take a break before every bite. I put 10 of them on a slice of white pizza yesterday, twas a beautiful thing!
Found this at my local supermarket.
Any idea what these yellow guys are? Tastes like a yellow bell pepper but with the heat of a hot jalapeno.
The red ones are called Ancient Sweets, very very sweet, very big as well. First time i've seen these. This is what i found about them...
I'm so happy right now! Ate it in 3 pieces, started with the tip, ended with placenta and seed loaded end. That last bit kicked my ass hard, leaned over the sink and drooled for a good 5 minutes. Very interesting flavor!
