They will grow but may not come out as you hope. Some of the reasons for this is the peppers may have cross pollinated with other types of peppers grown with them or near them. Often I have seen commercial growers grow their produce in long wide rows with different types in each row sometimes...

Are these the hard plastic pots or the ones that are less ridged that you can sort of squish with pressure? basically the thick plastic or thin plastic pots?

As far as I have learned all pepper species ( talking Capsicum ) are from the new world (north and south america) and all the varieties coming from the rest of the world are from seed brought from the new world originally.

Looking like its parent plant SS. Here are how mine are looking now. And here are some updates of my Manzano peppers producing under florescent lights.

I like most that grow it outside its climate range grow it more like a bonsai. All of the species I have are quite dissimilar in flower color and form so it will be a treat if they ever do bloom for me.

Sorry for not getting the final pics up sooner but work had its way with my time. So no pods on the challenge plants but do have flower buds on one. As far as what was gained from this grow. Many claim you can not rely on getting pods to set under florescent lighting or maintain compact growth...

laserguy you are completely right about this but I was referring to my inside grow. No my temps were not even close to the high's of the south but my lows were in the same range. Also my comments on my friends family growing fields in southern Mexico are in the temp ranges of those in the south...

Well mine are rebounding from being nibbled on. This next one was the one that just a few weeks back was nibbled down to the stem base. The last pic is of the roots in the hydro pots.

Just a thought but maybe cover this pot with a heavy gauge wire dome to protect it and any others that may still come up. Even a bird other wise could swoop down and cause another loss/setback. Once it is up and several true leaves grown 8 to 10 inches it will be more durable.
