    Flowers on my habs

I picked off a few of the flowers today to allow for more plant growth. I have a jalapeno plant that has been dropping flowers. it's under my patio out of direct sunlight but it does get the heat. Daytime temps have been ranging around 95* so I think that may be the reason for the flower drop...

    Brito's Pepper Plantation

Hey Brito. Just checked out your links. Very nice. May I ask what you do with the peppers and other harvest? Do you sell them at a market? By the way, is real estate expensive in Brazil? I may have to uproot and move to a more tropical environment.

    Night Wilting: What the ....

it's normal. I have a habanero that does the same thing. In the morning, it's back to normal. I freaked out the first time I saw and wondered if I didn't something to provoke the drooping.

    Matt Berry's Grow Log 2010

Nice jungle you have. It will be a couple more months until most of my seedlings are big enough to be outside. Hopefully I will get production from all remaining seedlings and my hab, jap & tabasco. I did get a late start as nothing was planted before 5/1.

    Flowers on my habs

Matt, I am a little concerned with the heat. It's been getting into the mid to upper 90's during the day. I have them in the front of my house out of the sun and wind. They only get morning sun on the weekends so I'm hoping they produce even with the high temps and not getting much sun. They are...

    Flowers on my habs

Finally have flowers on my habanero and jalapeno plant. I've been pinching off the flowers for the last week or so. I decided to let a few of the flowers go so I can hopefully have a few peppers. I also have a tabasco plant but that one does not have any buds yet. Kinda nice to actually see...

    Using Molasses

the first thing that comes to mind is ants being attracted to the sweetness, but I guess at 1 tsp/gal there may not be enough sweetness to attract ants or any other critters. I would be curious to know the outcome.

    Gibberillic Acid

I agree. I do make if difficult. Probably due to inexperience in pepper growing. I may do an experiement w/chile focus and with MG or fish emulsion to see which performs better. I'm sure I probably over do it at times. GA 3 seems to be good but also seems difficult to get.

    Gibberillic Acid

it is so difficult to decide what ferts to use or if I shoul use GA3. I want healthy plants that produce alot of pods so I just don't know what to do. I have some chile focus that i will have today so I guess I will stick with that. why does everything have to be do difficult?? LOL.

    Why are my chillies dieing?

Did you check for aphids or spider mites? Check under the leaves and if you see any of the little shits, spray them with dish liquid and water. It could also be a calcium/magnesium deficiency. How often are you fertilizing/watering, what are the temps in Ireland, how much light are they getting?

fertilizer Fertilizer question from a newbie

I am a newbe also so I can tell you what I do. First of all, I don't like slow release fertilizer. I am asuming yoy are using the slow release pebbles or whatever you call it. In my experience, you can never tell when the ferts will release. If you are going to use fertilizer, I would use a...

    pests After the aphids came........

I had an aphid problem earlier when you plants were younger. My habanero, jalapeno and tabasco lost almost of their leaves. I thought they were dead. I hit them with 1/2 strength 15-30-15 once a week and they are now about 12" tall and healthy. Depending on how big they are, I would hit them...

breeding Cross Country Nurseries Superhot Smackdown

I don't understand why they would ship something via USPS. Plants should be shipped by USP or FEDEX 2 day service. The postal service SUCKS. If any of those plants survived, you are lucky. maybe CCN will refund you some money. Good Luck.

    seeds Dead Seeds??

I ordered several other seeds from her and all sprouted except the choc hab and the naga. I know there will be seeds that are bad and it could be that I didn't water enough or over-watered. I don't think I did either but being my first year, i'm not sure. All my seeds sit on top of my freezer...

    seeds Dead Seeds??

I really think the seeds rotted. I will plant a few this afternoon in peat pellets and see what happens. Even if they do sprout, it will be getting into the end of the grow season, but i'll keep them inside and see what happens.

    seeds Dead Seeds??

I too ordered from peppergal. If my choc habs do not sprout, I may try again and do it in a coffee filter or peat pellet. I've used the pellets before and every seed germinated.

breeding Cross Country Nurseries Superhot Smackdown

I thought CCN shipped the plants with FedEx?? Their shipping cost are kinda high which is one reason why I didn't order from them. If I remember, I think shipping was around $15 and if they have been in transit for 8 days, i would get my money back from CCN.
