Same thing is happening to me. I think she was having technical difficulties a while back. Maybe this is one of them?

    Secret Project.........

Nice work, Nigel! I had no idea that this sort of thing could happen. Now I'm excited to take Genetics in the future. Could definitely help with this sort of thing. What do you do to get lab access? Bribe the techs with doughnuts? I work in a university lab but nobody would just let me walk in...

    8000k?

I grow with HPS so I'm no expert, but I thought 6700K was the fluorescent go to.

    about grafting

You should bottom water your plants to keep the top layer of soil dry. You won't need cinnamon if the top layer of soil is dry enough since mold can't grow well in a dry environment.   As for the grafting, you can use any tape you like I think. Parafilm would also work well if you have any of...

cutlery SciurusDoomus's Guide to Sharp-as-hell knives

Absolutely, the Lansky kit and others are great for beginners and you can get a damn good edge with minimal toil. That said, anything you learn on a kit is something you'll have to re-learn in the context of stone sharpening should you decide to make the jump. This might just be for me, but...

"Methylated Spirits" is ethanol (drinking alchohol) with methyl alcohol or methanol (poison) added so that it's not for drinking. Isopropyl alcohol or acetone will work just the same I suspect as they're all small-molecule organic solvents.   The alcohol will likely just dislodge any metal or...

cutlery SciurusDoomus's Guide to Sharp-as-hell knives

Diamond coated rods are great because they basically never wear down. Different strokes for different folks (literally).   The only problem I have with diamond rod sharpeners is that they're typically used with systems like the Spyderco Sharpmaker or some other system that holds the angle for...

cutlery SciurusDoomus's Guide to Sharp-as-hell knives

A butcher's steel is the long rod I mentioned in the paragraph before "Stone Care." The knife is dragged spine-first across the steel at your edge angle to basically straighten an already sharp edge. While cutting, you can bend and edge slightly so that it's still very sharp but doesn't make a...

SciurusDoomus's Guide to Sharp Knives   I haven't seen a post like this on THP and I think everyone should know how to keep their knives sharp without ruining the knife or themselves financially. This is a long post, you've been warned.     Why you need to throw away your wedge grinder:   When...

    Doomus's 2014 Closet-GLOG

Hey everyone, this'll be my first glog. I'm starting my babies in a dorm closet like I always do but I hope to give them a big yard to grow in by the summer. We'll see!   Anyway I planted the seeds yesterday night after getting back from spring break. (3/16/14)   http://imgur.com/XJ0uQho   From...

    MoA Jamaican scotch bonnets....

Just planted eight of these guys last night! I'm on a late start since I just got back from spring break. Can't wait for these guys, just looking at this thread is making my mouth water.   Good luck to everyone in the '14 season, especially anyone as lucky as I am to have some of these seeds.  ...

    Fungus Gnats Are Killing Me!!!

My love to you and your plants, man. Fungus gnats suck! I dealt with them for months and dunks, H2O2, sticky traps, and bottom watering all failed. The only way I could kill them was to remove the plant and dry that soil completely, I hope it doesn't have to come to that for you. Good luck, man.   S

    Ebson salt?

Psst Jojo!   http://www.lbwater.org/sites/default/files/FY%202013%20CCR.pdf   Very last page:   Mg: 2.4-21 ppm Ca: 19-55 ppm   You're all good if you use tap water, your plants will get a constant trickle of these nutes and you'll never burn them with Ca or Mg. You should still probably...

    MoA Jamaican scotch bonnets....

Check with Steve594, KingDenniz, or anyone else who's posted here who has them. I have a few, but I haven't grown them yet. If you don't get them this year I will definitely send you some.

Most of my plants do that, but not as hard. Might be dehydrated plus normal fluctuations.

It decays in contact with light, though. Store it in a lightproof bottle. Auxin's finnicky afaik.

All right for flowers! Reproduction is expensive energy-wise. She wouldn't be throwin' buds if she didn't want you pollinating!

A sneak peek at what I have growing for 2014!!

Dope. Your seedlings look good, I've never seen trichomes that long on a C. chinense, are they unique to that cultivar?   Good luck in the coming season, you sure got one helluva head start!
