seeds Seed starting kits with heat mats & small grow lights

AJ-just out of curiosity, since light is not required during the germination process, only heat does the placement of your fluorescents over the tops of the seeds in your germination chamber help the seedlings out significantly? Thanks, Mike.

    Kord pots/trays

Anyone have any recommendations where I can purchase some Kord pots/trays? Found a website, Basket Greenhouse Megastore but they wanted $50.00 shipping. A little ridiculous if you ask me.

Check out this thread http://www.thehotpepper.com/topic/19118-germination-aides/. A lot of ideas. I haven't heard anything bad about Neil's technique from the Hippy Seed Company, referenced by Hot Pooper.

    Growing inside

To clarify, I did start the plants off under a MH and then switched to the HPS once they began flowering.

    Growing inside

I'm thinking to get the best results, (if you do not have sunlight available) you'll want a HID setup. I've got a 600 watt HPS running now and I'm having a lot of success with growing the peppers indoors.

    And then there were peppers

Thanks all! The plants are in my furnace room. I lined the walls with the Permaflect. I started the plants under a 600 watt metal halide and then switched over to a 600 watt high pressure sodium bulb. I'm really leaning towards the hydro system. Once I tuned in the PH, the Bhut Jolokia took...

    And then there were peppers

It's been a little over 2 months since I started my plants. I've got 1 Long Red Slim, 1 Peter Pepper, 2 Bhut Jolokia's and a Red Caribbean Habanero. These have really taken off and I've had to throw out several other plants due to how big they have gotten. The Bhut in the Waterfarm has really...

indoor Complete newb to indoor growing

Haaaaaa, no I actually purchased the carbon filter because I didn't have the time to vent the fan out into the garage. I have however completed that and wow what a difference. It lowered the humidity and the temperature by 5 degrees. Keeps a consistent temp of 75 to 76 degrees. Thanks to all...

indoor Complete newb to indoor growing

I purchased my whole lighting system for around $700.00 which includes the reflector/ballast/inline fan/metal halide bulb and high pressure sodium bulb. Granted you will be able to purchase a HID system for a lot cheaper.

seeds when to start my seeds, ILL.

I'm starting in Rapid Rooters. Then they are transplanted into ProMix BX. Using Botanicare products. Using 2 4' double fluorescent fixtures in each grow shelf.

seeds when to start my seeds, ILL.

Great. My biggest concern is the plants getting too big before plant out and running out of room in my grow shelf. Well trial and error I guess but I'll definitely follow everyone's recommendations.
