    Trinidad Scorpion Peach ripening question

Ive never specifically grown trinidad scorpion peach(lots of new varieties-whew) but morugas etc take an extremely long time to ripen... were talking weeks so its not unusual. I cant tell you what color its supposed to be as Ive not grown them. Just wait on the first one until it is for sure the...

seeds fail to germinate seeds? try my method

I actually have some huge jackfruit seeds and Ill give this a try. Thanks for the tips. Ive always germinated (pepper) seeds by just placing them in the middle of 6 wet paper towells on a plate in a cupboard. Works great but cant do that well with the big seeds like dates and jackfruit.

If I don't move my plants into the shade will it do ok? (Houston Tx)

Just to add to all the replies... I used to grow in the fabric wally mart bags. They work great btw, aerate good, but only last a season then they start to rot away. Ive had 10 or 15 bags just sitting by the side of the house in full sun all day and they did fine through Southern Califonia...

    Anyone tried/using the Tower Garden

thats fine. I bought some seedlings to make up for me giving away a bunch of my starters at work. Just wash the roots under a hose until they are pretty flean. Handle them gently and keep the roots out of the sun. The gentle is stated but to be honest Ive dropped them before, had the hose too...

    GH flora system-anyone?

Those have been kind of the go to for years. I use GH every couple years with great success every time. Ive tried others like Jungle Juice for example is a copy with the same 3 parts and ratio suggestions. JJ is a lot cheaper, but Im not convinced it does as well. I also add Cal-Mag about...

    Anyone tried/using the Tower Garden

Oh if you bought seedlings then when they come take them out of the box and leave them a little shady at first gradually getting them to full sun. After a few days the shock should be ok to ,well, shock them again a little. In the shade or at dusk, just gently rinse the roots under a garden hose...

How far can spider mites and white flies travel?

So, on one side of my yard I found a nasty infestation of spider mites and white flies. This is one of those side yards you kind of forget about. It does have a few last years peppers and a lemon tree but I rarely go out there. Had a dirt bike crash last year and metal plates now in my leg and...

    Anyone tried/using the Tower Garden

I usually grow mine until the first set of true leaves are fully grown, the ones that look like the normal plant leaves. Cant really say based on height of the plant at early stage (in my opinion- but even after years of growing and quite a few years on here, I learn new things all the time)...

pics conjoined pepper leaf pics on three year old plus plant

This one had me wondering too so after a lot of reading its probably due to a temperature change (cooling) when the leaves were forming, but even though thats mentioned at a few sites like Michigan University, it is inconclusive and also minor jolts of temporary stress is also thought to be a...

chinense Tried to dry whole Bhut Jolokia fruits, failure?

I always cut all of mine in half then I put them in a dehydrator. I have ome of the cheapie models but it still takes a couple days. Lowest temp I can to save the color. Ive always had trouble trying to air dry anything other than a (thin) ceyenne. Molds every time.

    soil soil help

If you dont mind a little more money, fox farms stuff is in my experience, by far the best. Ocean forrest is what I use now and can tell the difference after a month vs almost any other soil for containers. Theres also one called happy frog a lot of people rave about but Ive never tried that one.

    Anyone tried/using the Tower Garden

I got one from a friend at work cheap about 4 years ago. Added it to my setup. Its aeroponics, basically a res at the bottom with a pump, pushes water up the center tube into a strainer looking thing. Its a plastic plate with lots of holes in it. The solution/water just runs down through the...
