I don't understand either because the herbicide or pesticide was probably metabolized by the plant or any other organism in the environment long before it reaches the seeds.  If we're worrying about trace chemicals, that seed turns into a plant several hundred times larger than the seed itself...

Shouldn't matter which one is the mother or father as far as I'm aware because they're hermaphroditic plants and their pollen and eggs contain the same genes.  If the parents are stable varieties, they are said to be homozygous, either completely dominant (RR for example) or completely recessive...

So how do you think f1 crosses stack up against their parents in production?  Do they usually produce more? 

What do 2 week old jalapeno seedlings look like?  I want to know if my cross worked and the seedlings are about an inch and a half tall, I don't know if that is an already existing characteristic or heterosis.  It is an anuum and chinense cross (if it worked as planned, which it probably didn't.)

I'm still not sure if that cross worked if you're wondering, the true leaves are just popping out and they kinda look chinense, they're also kinda tall.  I don't know if that's hybrid vigor or it being leggy or maybe that's how tall jalapeno seedlings are I don't remember.

No its just a regular purebred TAM.  I can't wrap my mind around why it's so hot.  The burn isn't as violent as a hab, but the burn feels like a needle or snake fangs won't let go of your tongue. 

So i'm growing some TAM jalapeno's and they're supposed to be pretty mild, to me at-least, this is not so.  I don't know if I have a mutant or something, but everyone I give one to says it's hotter than my chocolate habs.  And I don't know what the problem is, I want to move up the scale but if...
