I use mineral oil to seal my wooden cutting boards that I make. Mineral oil alone is not toxic. Even non food grade mineral oil such as baby oil is just scented mineral oil.

Dripper plants look good. Did you ever get a ppm meter? If so test the ppm of your tap water by itself and I can give you a good idea of what your ppm should be in your dwc buckets.

I think it's working ok. It looks good during the evenings and at night it pops right back.
