I answered in the thread right after you asked :) Pods were awesome all the way around. Liked them so much I'm keeping some seeds from of the nicer pods for the garden next year and will probably get some more off you in the next few weeks.
I checked last years grow log. On July 6th i pointed out that the giants were smaller than all of my other pods. On July 16th I said they were taking off / getting bigger. The next photos were not until Aug 29 and i pointed out how big the plants and pods were. Last years weather was awesome too...
Same here, right now my chocolates are bigger than the giants. I seem to remember the giants being behind all my other plants last year too before they took off. I'm going to dig up the old grow thread and see.
If someone that's bought him makes the recommendation I will happily add him to the list.
I would need to see a lot of good reviews from a variety of members before adding ebay sellers.
Thanks everyone!
Thank you, it's turning out to be a good season. The picture of the brain i posted does not do it justice. Here's a better angle
The pods on both of the brains i have going look very nice and true to form. I got the seeds from you last year along with the douglahs. I'm sure the bhut is just a...
Thanks Mill & Buddy.
Not ripe but we're getting there...
Some bhuts (my seeds)
a 7 pod brain strain (cappy seeds)
a 7 pod douglah (cappy seeds)
and a bunch of 7 pod jonahs (BigT seeds)
It's been hotter than hell but pods are a' setting
Those chocolates look nice. Looks like you'll have ones to sample any day now :onfire: I have some of giant jalapenos this year too, turning out to be a great plant.
I'll probably go ahead and tie them off later today and definitely going to pile on some more compost/soil. It's been so dry so when we get storms like today it can wash a lot of soil off.
I think if I lived in a hurricane zone I would just grow indoors:-)
Thanks!
It was staked but not tied, only gets hit with wind from on direction. I must have moved the stake though at some point, it was not in the right place anymore. What's weird is it did not appear to be broken anywhere...the break must have happened under the dirt? It was just laying flat...
We had a 15 minutes storm this morning that had some serious wind gusts. My largest chocolate bhut jolokia was laying flat on it's side :( I stood him back up and gave him a stake for support. Keep him in your .
Happy to help spread the peppery goodness around :onfire:
I'm sure conditions play into growth but overall I have been really happy with these seeds/pods. Are you planning on starting the seeds soon? If not and you can wait a month or so I'll send you the actual pods and you can pull the seeds...
Howdy,
I have bhut's I've been happy with. History...seeds came from Pepper Joe and are what he calls the "Giant Bhut Jolokia". I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that he originally got seeds from cpi and grew them out / kep the big ones & repeated for a few years. I got them from my neighbor and...
