    chinense Reaper Madness!?!

Yes, agree wholeheartedly.  I do enjoy some crosses, but the craze of crossing just to cross is out of control right now.  The idea of crossing just for a certain color and such is very undesirable to me especially after I taste some of these peppers and I just think ughhh!  that tasted like...

chinense Scotch bonnet shape evidence enough?

Believe it or not I grew these from pods I selected out of a Krogers Supermarket (Central Ohio) grocery chain.  In the winter of 2015 there was an Orange Hab shortage at the surrounding Krogers, many of the bins went routinely empty.  When the Orange Habs started to come in I noticed...

What varieties have you seen sun burn?

Nearly all my peppers planted in full sun have the burn, only the fuller lush plants like Yellow Cardi Scorpion do not have it, they got really lush and full this year making a nice canopy to protect the chili's.    I have a couple other varieties that got nice and lush this year also protecting...

And the most prolific pepper in my garden this year is...

My plants get about 10hrs of Sunlight per day, I live in Central Ohio, USA and we have had one of the hottest summers in history so I dont think you should have any problems with heat per say.    I have all mine planted in a raised bed, they have been a real joy to grow actually.     cheers!

Highest producing pepper this garden season is the Sunrise Scorpion, 14 plants and they were the first to set fruit this summer and have been cranking out pods all summer long.    cheers

pics Lets see your meanest, most gnarly pods!!!

I grew Armageddon 3 years ago, they were at F4, F5 stage back then I think.  Mine looked somewhat like this if I remember correctly but I got the really cool bleeding of brown spots on the stems which these dont have.     I do still have Armageddon seeds so I am gonna grow them next year along...

pics Lets see your meanest, most gnarly pods!!!

The seeds were marked Chocolate Ghost, obviously not a Ghost per say but has the little gnarly bumps all over them just like a Choc Ghost,  if anyone wants to chime in feel free.    Growing these next year for sure though!

Looking for a thick walled superhot

Yea, I was thinking that 800k shu was the max, I have had some that I thought were respectable hot and others which I though hmmm.  But I guess with all the super, supers now 600-800k shu doesnt seem that hot but it is.    I sell peppers at my local flea market and I still have people wince...

Looking for a thick walled superhot

Yellow Cardi Scorpion, thick walled and hefty peppers.  Very citrusy and juicy when ripe, they dont have a great shelf life for this reason but a fantastic tasting pepper with decent heat....  probably 800k shu I think

    Chili flavors

My favorite superhot is 7 Pot Jonah, I also dehydrate and make into powder because it is very aromatic.  I set up a stand at local fleamarket and sell powders and peppers.  Whenever I sell 7 pot jonah powder it sells out nearly instantly as soon as people smell it.  The Jonah is blazing hot so...

    Brown Moruga?

Here is my first Brown Moruga this year....  Not all look like this of course.      Here are some Choc Scorpions....            Just for comparison to your image.   My Brown Moruga arent PL though, I asked the grower I got the seeds from.  Supposedly the PL - Browns are a bit bigger as Judy...

Anyone grow yellow fatillis last season or growing them this year ?

I have grown Yellow, Orange, Red, and Choc Fatalii and honestly I prefer the red variety over the others.  I am growing 3 plants of the red again this summer, to each there own right.      cheers

    Jamaican Hot Chocolate Pod Test

I grew Choc Habs in the past until last year and I grew JHC for the first time, had no trouble at all with the plants setting fruit and they were very heavy producers as well.    The Choc Habs had a more earthy bell like taste, the JHC are much tastier in my view, not nearly as hot as the Choc...

    Trinidad peppers

Hmmm, tough question.  With the SR strains introduced by Sara to the masses I am not sure what is not available in the states.    I do especially enjoy the 7 Pot Jonah, 7 Pot Yellow, 7 Pot Orange, Red and Yellow Congo also.     Basically I am clueless as to the legitimacy of any of the 7 pots...

    Crunchiest thick walled pepper?

Hot Cherry peppers are the crunchiest and thickest walled in my view.  Like a mini bell pepper but with heat and they are very sweet of course.

    Prik Kee Noo Pepper

To be honest, all of the red Thai chili I have tried.... 5 from that list all have the same flavor profile.  If I grow Thai chili now I always grow the ones that are bigger and easier to harvest.   I do search for other Thai chili with unique flavor like the Orange Thai pictured, I like the...

annuum Please recommend me an annum that is*HOT*

Goat's Weed is a great choice, as someone who has grown them I think you should be prepared to Overwinter the plant as the first season it doesnt produce very well.  At least that was my experience, however the second season I had multitudes of peppers and it produced like crazy!      Just my...
