seeds Should seeds to be planted be really spicy?

Been there. Bought "reapers" on amazon for my first attempt to grow a pepper. Turned out to be red savina habanero. Still alive, great peppers. Of course, I wouldnt mind another apple tree either

    Looking for the non-toppers

First year I topped. Next year after reading higher yields with untopped I didn't top.. at first... once the plants got outdoors and the wind hit them they were not prepared at all. I quickly topped them all and they stiffened right up. Now I try to plant earlier so I can top and not lose any...

Does Pod Shape matter when selecting seeds

I dont know the answer, but reguardless if pod shape carries over in that pods seeds or not, I only keep seeds from pods that are the size and shape I think best represents the pepper variety. Maybe pointless, but it isnt hurting me to do it that way My brown moruga plant last year had a few...

    Composted cow manure

It is odd that a cow, with multiple stomaches, that often regurgitates food to re-chew, would have a weed problem. I read the article you linked. Very informative. After that cow manure problem I had, my garden gets only my composted chicken manure and the left over dirt from my pepper pots.

    Composted cow manure

Wrong sir. I live about 100 yards from the farm I grew up on. I made the mistake of throwing cow manure on my garden. It was easily the weediest year I ever had. I can't speak for horse manure, but cow manure is absolutely riddled with weeds *side thought... Perhaps the cows diet could have...

Oddly enough, the hardest thing to germinate last year was my Brown Morugas lol.. out of 8 attempts, only 2 came up, and it took them every bit of a month. One of those was weak and died young.. the other I had to baby, but ultimately became one of my favorite plants and provided the seeds for...

Yea, we were very suprised at that, it was not expected at all.. I usually do seed trays and expect hooks around 10-14 days with more coming over the next week.. the 5/5 morugas has completely changed my germination method going forward.. I will definitely be starting my seeds in a jiffy dome...
