seeds Trinidad 7 pot primo seeds look weird?

I notice my saved chinense seed are wrinkly/wavy when there is a lot attached to the placenta and dry in clumped bunches. Seeds that are individually removed tend to be nice and flat. I have found no differences in viability.

Happy New Year - 30% Off Seeds (harvest2016)

Happy New Year! If you are still looking for seeds, please consider trying me. I have quite a few of my own crosses, and several popular varieties to add to your 2016 grow. All grown by me in Idaho - both at a farm and home. Plants are not isolated but varieties are clustered together.   Use...

    condiment Goya Hot Salsa Taquera

My wife picked this up on a business trip - Goya Hot Salsa Taquera (product of Mexico). You may find it in the grocery store, depending on the demographic of your local population. While nothing special in terms of heat (I'd say it's medium at best), I found it to have a wonderful, smokey...

Aero Garden Classic 7 in White worth it @ $50

I dunno at that price. It depends on what you want to do. Earlier this year I picked up 4 classics for $10.99 each and my local thrift store, and one ultra for $15. Even at that price I am still kinda "meh" about them. They are decent starters, and cloners, but you have to move the plants out if...

    eating your first superhot

Practice makes perfect and some people just have more natural tolerance. After many years, I still have no desire to eat whole superhots. I grow and consume lots of superhot sauce, powders, and cook with, or eat raw, small amounts. I enjoy intense mouth heat but not stomach discomfort.

What tomatoes are you growing in 2016?

Every fall I curse my tomatoes - what a mess of rotting, green, spotted, gooey glop during final cleanup. Every fall I swear I won't do as many tomatoes, just a couple of plants I say ... that's all I need ... yeah, yeah ...   Now it's several months later, and I'm thinking about growing more...

Gofundme campaign to get our farm running

I know of several forums that have outright banned links to gofundme-type sites as "digital panhandling."   There are notable exceptions. For instance, tech or manufacturing startups that offer a return on investment (eg, $300 gets you one of the new whizbang prototypes). These companies need...

    beer Billion dollar brew

Well, good for them. Sadly, I won't be buying any more Ballast Point. I don't like supporting the mega-beer-corporations. Regardless of what they say, I seriously doubt it'll remain the same. Last year, a local favorite (10 Barrel) was bought out by InBev. I haven't bought anything from them...

food Chili on the new cooktops

Very cool. I'm going to have to check out those cooktops. Have you used them for hot sauce yet? I like to cook on our gas range in the kitchen, but one of these outside (or in the garage) would save the house from inevitable fumigations.

What tomatoes are you growing in 2016?

As I shovel hundreds (if not thousands of unused and green tomatoes) from my dead 7 backyard plants, I need to cut back. They are always a successful mess, and I just don't seem to have time to process/can/use them.   The only one I know for sure is - Juliet - my new staple. It's a small...

    Hottoddy 2015 - 2016

Sadly, this is the last decent haul of 2015. It includes many green Aji Amarillos - which take forever to ripen - and most the remaining peppers in the greenhouse. With the weather now in the 20s most nights, the greenhouse won't hold out much longer. We pulled up the final peppers at the farm...
