    Peruvian Aji

The Rocoto plants can get rather large and knarly. I actually grew some pods on my 2nd year plants that I overwintered last year. The Rocoto plants are probably the ugliest of all the peppers I have seen but are also the tastiest IMO The Longhorns couldnt beat our high school team this year...

You will like this better than V8 for B Marys. Its best to cook the juice longer so it will be thicker. I like B Marys to be a little bit thick

    Greetings from Peru

I am back home now and actually glad to be. I have some seeds of the peppers and other veggies to try next year. Cant wait to plant the Yellow Rocotos. For those of you that grow Rocotos, it is best to plant them very early. Like in November! They are grown up in the cooler areas of the...

    Greetings from Peru

This is how the Rocoto pepper is used here in Peru. They make a sauce with it and it is then used to spice up your meal. You use as much as you want or as much as you can handle which is my case LOL Today the Rocoto sauce was used to spice up a soup known here as San con chado. You also...

    Greetings from Peru

I didnt see any wildlife however I didnt get too far off the beaten path. The air is so thin there and the altitude so high that it is hard to do much walking up there. It makes the Rockies look like mole hills LOL

    Greetings from Peru

This is the town of Huancayo. I felt like I was at the end of the world up there. You are seriously a long ways from everywhere here. The closest place of any significance is Lima which is about 6 1/2 hours away. I am just sick that this pic turned out to be blurry. It is the church on the...

    Greetings from Peru

This was the highest point we went into the Andes. This was on the way to Huancayo. I nearly passed out in the bus from the altitude and thin air. It was truly a beautiful place though
