    Too old?

you don't have to dry them. you can take them straight from the pepper and plant them. they seem to sprout much quicker the fresher the seeds.

How to get plants to grow taller and minimize bushiness?

i imagine you could train and prune them, i would imagine. i like my plants both bushy as well as tall, so i don't have advice on exactly how to do what you want to do. good luck and happy growing.

seeds What's your fastest/average seed germination time?

i have had seeds take over 2 months to pop. and, i've had some which seemed to pop in just a couple of days. i've even had pellets that i tossed into a pot that i thought were worthless, and then they sprouted what seemed like 3 months or more later. you never know with pepper seeds. .

    Possible to indentify?

way too hard to say at this point, except there may be a little purple in the stem. this could indicate it is a super hot, but again, way too early to tell.

there's a chance, but probably not in the f-1 seeds. the f-2s would probably have some reds, i would imagine. this is only speculation from what i have read and heard about the subject. i have yet to grow out my f-2s and they were red to begin with...
