    Autopots

Autopots have a smart valve which allows the soil to dry up before it re-waters them. I have seen a few people use them and they work well. Go for it mate. Chris

    Made me a Geminator...

As outline by THSC I thought I would have a go building my own. Cost next to nothing to make as I had the bits lying around. I realise this should be in 'Grow Tech' but thought it would get more traffic here - it also works well and I want as many people to see it as possible. You will need a...

Deficiency - ph related or lockout?

These two were only started as a test for my 10 plants (just started) going into hydro systems. I wanted to get an idea of the time period from sprouting to ready for transplant into the system. Working this out would mean getting the longest period possible in the greenhouse come last frosts -...

Expert answer on potting up required

Hi Fellow chilli heads. Basically all the plants pictured need potting up. I have come to this conclusion as every other day they seriously wilt and need watering. The one on the far right has also started dropping several lower healthy looking leaves since the photo. It now looks like...

I soak mine in rainwater first (ph tends to be 5.5 - 5.8) and then water with a weak nute solution. No ph adjusting needed with rain water. Chris

greenhouse Good or crap idea? Greenhouse extension

Cheers Mike, The plan is to gain extra plant space that is protected from wind and rain. Plants wont go out till May/ June time until September/ October. The plastic is only going to span across the top and the fence and wall will protect the rear and the front will be open. What are the uses...

greenhouse Good or crap idea? Greenhouse extension

I have been thinking about utilising the space between my greenhouse and the fence for more chilli plants. 4 tier mini greenhouses are £15 each and I thought of a cheap way to keep the plants dry from the rain but also wind protected so hopefully they will do better. If I contact a poly tunnel...

    seeds seed case problem

Somebody on another forum just buries their heads again and gently compacts the soil. Next time they stand up the cases come off. I use tweezers with 95% success. Just pinch the edges of the seed rather than the flat sizes.
