This offer is now closed. I'm still waiting for a few envelopes. Those requests are still good, so if you already talked to me and haven't sent your envelope yet, I still have seeds for you.
Thanks to everyone who participated. This was fun and I got to talk to some really good people. I hope...
"Will they recover?"
Almost certainly. They may just be spreading out some roots and adjusting to their new conditions. A little sunburn will slow them down but they should be fine. Not looking dead is certainly a good sign.
"How can I help them?'
By not trying to help them too much. Let them...
I think it might be a problem getting it out when it's time to pot it up. If that isn't as difficult as I'd expect it to be then it sounds like it could work, maybe really well. Seems worth trying anyway.
And yes, you probably are out of your mind.
So you're saying that one superhot pepper is only enough to heat one tenth of a litre to 500 scovilles? That sounds really low to me, but what do I know?
At least I have the right idea in thinking that scoville rating has nothing to do with volume, only dilution ratio. One teaspoon of a...
Unless I misunderstand the scoville scale, that's not how it works.
Scoville rating is the ratio you have to dilute to neutralize it. 1M scoville would be diluted to one part per million to make the heat undetectable. Your numbers work if you have a small (equivalent to 1mL) piece of a pepper...
Babysas hasn't been here for almost a month. I hate to see anyone get skipped, but maybe she can be added back in later if she comes back.
Sending the train to someone who can't be contacted and hasn't been heard from for a month seems like a bad idea.
That's another good point. There are even extract sauces that do taste good.
I was more getting at the extreme variance in what different people like. I'm sure that for any sauce on the market there are people who like the taste.
You confuse me sometimes.
I think quite a few people would say the same thing about ghost peppers. Quite a few people would say that no one eats a Habanero except to show off because they are too hot to eat. Sure, they're wrong, but why is the limit they believe wrong while your limit is...
I'm pretty sure there is no such thing as having too many varieties. Your offer makes me want to get three types closer to finding out.
Donne Sali
Scorpion Peach
Yellow Infinity
Those would be great if you would be so kind.
Thanks, that's a nice list and a very generous offer.
