    breeding Minimizing Cross Pollinating

ok so i found some interesting details. Hydrophily - pollination by water. Entomophily - pollination by bugs. Anemophily - Pollination by wind. It appears that not all plants are likely to be capable of all types. some plants pollen are more suited for entomophily, and not anemophily...

    breeding Minimizing Cross Pollinating

I also am highly interested in this topic, I plan to bag also, but from my general assumption, this will only help to prevent cross pollination by bugs / bees, wind is another story. im going to do some digging to see what i can come up with. http://ohioline.osu.edu/agf-fact/0153.html from...

AACT, what you might want to read first.

My original thought was to look into the risk of making aact in regards to ecoli and salmonella. This thought turned out to be, from my findings online from reputable sources, true. There is especially a highly increased risk it appears when you use molasses. my next thought was to weight out...

AACT, what you might want to read first.

these study's indicate that both NCT and ACT create and cause e coli to populate, and that there is a direct relation to the use of certain additives like molasses. They also state that the existence of other beneficial microbes have no effect on other populations, including these harmful...

AACT, what you might want to read first.

I have been doing some reading in regards to my concerns with the risks of using AACT, salmonella and ecoli and continue to come across research papers which indicate that AACT (compost tea) doesn't have a distinctive benefit. That it has little to no ability to help plants fight off or prevent...

    Compost/Manure Tea Questions

not to steal the thread but, http://thehotpepper.com/topic/38968-compost-tea-and-harmful-bacteria-like-ecoli-salmonella-etc/#entry818661 If you ask me, yes, you should be concerned. From what i have read thus far, hen and chicken manure have the highest risk with salmonella...

AACT, what you might want to read first.

I understand that i could grow without using AACT. I merely sharing my concern and findings. Someone interested in making AACT may want to know the risks associated. E coli and salmonella is a pretty big risk.

AACT, what you might want to read first.

there are a few study's out that indicate the presence of beneficial microbes have little to no effect on harmful bacteria. The fact that your plant can fight off disease seems pointless if you cant eat the end product.

AACT, what you might want to read first.

This is a question that I have been wondering about for some time. I have developed some concerns with making compost tea and the chance of very harmful bacteria like ecoli. so today i did a little preliminary research and found that my thoughts are not unwarranted...

    AACT not foaming

yeah, the product is marketed with an indefinite shelf life. thats naturally not normal. once its mixed with water, the ph rises enough to become unstable and allow microbes to develop.

    AACT not foaming

Here is an interesting thought. I have heard from a knowledgeable source that even Neptune's fish and seaweed hydrolysate has added extras that they have to add to extend shelf life and to keep the product from exploding on the shelf. Let me explain. 1. The bacterial breakdown of the fish...

    bagging

want to check my understanding I don't have the space to separate by space and wanted to confirm that bagging pepper plants with tulle is only preventing them from bug pollination, and does not prevent wind pollination. if this is the case, what is the point? or does bagging prevent both wind...
