    Hello from Reno

Today I did the transplanting. Lost about 5-10% if roots in process. Baskets do a great job of keeping their share. I did my mix of souls and nutrients. Ill cover each one and its percentages for those wanting to know, as well as process. Here are pictures of them now. I know there will be...

    Hello from Reno

Thank you very much. I just got all my soil mix together with added nutrients mixed in. Im letting it activate over night, then tomorrow I will be transplanting from hydroponic to soil. The plants are getting to big and heavy so its time. They are also starting to flower all over, and I dont...

    Jolokia plants

Right now the plants have been around 6.0-6.2 with 770-850ppm. For flowering, I will likely take ppm up to 900-1000. I noticed that when I moved from 500s to 700s, then 800 area, they exploded. This of course was after two months of growing. Now, after a month at this ppm, it seems like they...

    Jolokia plants

I agree. Ive been focused on growth, not flowering. I use Masterblend with a ratio of 10:10:5 since I have four gallons inside. Im debating whether to switch nutrients when I focus on blooms or switch ratios to 10:3:5. The middle component is the calcium nitrate that would be reduced...

That picture of cup was from early October when they were 6. They have transplanted twice since. Each picture from top to bottom showed a month where they were at. Same plant.

    Jolokia plants

I agree. I wanted growth first. I still want my plants to get a foot taller. Based on recent explosion of growth, Im looking at migrating the plant to soil with proper balance of nutrients, then once it acclimated, I should see it fruit all over. Since its in hydroponic right now until the...

    Jolokia plants

Well, I am a newbie in growing hot peppers. First truly committed year to this; yet I love it, and will expand my opportunities each season as I get better. Many learning experiences with soil to transplanting to dwc, to doing nutrients and lighting right. Well, something is good. My pictures...

    Hello from Reno

Thanks. That was two weeks ago. This is one now. I wont do any more posting of the plants here because it will become a focus for a different forum area, but here is one. My wife wants me to let them pod but I will be transitioning them to soil bags for outdoors which takes a couple months to...

    Hello from Reno

Hello. I love to garden, but with limited space right now, I work with what I currently love growing most. I love peppers, tomatoes and herbs (for foods). I go hiking when possible, and raise two girls while wife works out of state on reservation. I enjoy this site for the many wonderful topics...

    Leaf issue

Here is a view of tops of the Chocolate Bhuta Jolokias. I did hear from our local master gardener that the one leaf was likely a issue of past concern on ph and air circulation. He says plants look and are likely in great shape.

    Leaf issue

My only concern, which I need to look into is this leaf with darkness on it. Only one leaf, but I want to address it early. Ph is 5.9 ppm low 600s. Change weekly.

I have trimmed my plants, topped them, and given 16 hours a day light with a fan blowing above, and for short durations, at the plants for strength. Here are pictures of the tops and roots.

Red flags of "newbie" seed scammers on THP

Im new to this forum and growing g peppers. Over the last 6 months Ive invested many hours and dollars into creating four very special hot sauces that I currently make for friends and family. Since perfecting them, I decided to dive into growing some special pepper plants...with a whole lot of...

    Leaf issue

I got the fan with a slow speed for subtle breeze above plants. Seems to be working good. I also did further research on nutrients and process to succeed for my environment. The plants I have are young, 5-7 inches, but showing great signs. Roots nice and white, and growing well. Im...
