    Brown Seeds

Probably a dumb question, but did you use ACV in your recipe? That could explain the tint.

    Gnats

I put about a inch of fine sand on the top of my soil.  I haven't seen a fungus gnat since.  I either killed them or they are living under the sand lol.  I was told sand works or diatemaceous earth.  This is my first year growing though so don't take my word for it.

    Leaves Turning Purple

I grew some scotch bonnets for my first year.  Started them indoors and the stems and leaves turned purple.    I was told by some veteran members on here that it was just a suntan and not to worry about it.... they were right.  Once they were outside for some real sunlight the purple went away.

    Stakes or Cages

Ty for all the comments.  The winds can be brutal here in OK, very common to have 20-30mph winds in a day with no storms.  I will try stakes with the handle up like suggested for more support.  If it gets bad enough I will slip a giant cage over them around the bucket.

    pests What are these bugs?!?

Hello all, I went to my parents house, and these little slender black bugs seem to be sucking the juice out of her tomato plants.  They haven't touched my pepper plants at all which are about 20 feet away.  Any idea what these are and how to kill them so she doesn't lose all her tomatoes?

    Snake!

Copperhead bites are pretty nasty though, they say it feels like magma going through your veins.  I have seen some nasty ones in the hospital and can cause some skin necrosis or losing a limb.    I know I will get some heat from animal lovers but any poisonous snake I see.... DIES!!  The best...

    Shishito peppers are the shishit

Ever try blistering them in your cast iron skillet with bacon grease instead of olive oil, TXCG?  We sautee sliced up Jalepeno's this way for burger or fries toppings.

    Stakes or Cages

I was wondering on peppers and tomatoes.  Do you guys stake or cage or both?  It is very windy here in Oklahoma and I could use all the support for plants I can get within reason.  I helped my parents build some heavy tomato cages for their stuff this year, but wondering what to do on my Scotch...

    Winland's 2016 Pepper Patch

I have also heard of a few old farmers that said to put about 3-4 8 penny nails, non coated, into the dirt around the plant.  They said it stops cutworms and just till them in every year and it adds iron to the soil.  Not sure if this is true but have heard a few old timer farmers say it so...

    food Grilled Cheese Thread

I have never tried mustard on a grilled cheese but I bet it is good.  I put dry mustard in my mac n cheese recipe so it makes sense =)  I usually just make a grilled cheese out of extra sharp cheddar, and add slices of dill pickles in the sandwich and fry on griddle with butter on outside of the...

    When to transplant?

I transplanted mine with into outside pots/buckets with about 4-5 sets of true leaves.  But ditto on the Mycorrhizea, seems to have helped a lot in my plants compared to friend who grew a plant out of my same seeds.
