    video 8/29/2014 Video Update....

Jimbo.... In the past I have typically used 5-1-1. This year I decided to go the easy route and try something straight out of the bag. I did a little research and people seemed to like BX Pro Mix. I started with that and added some additional perlite. Someone informed me, about half way...

    First Moruga Scorpion Pod.....

I learned my lesson earlier this year. My first ripe super hot was a tiny Bhut Orange Copenhagen. It was about the size of a dime. I think it was around the end of May. I thought what the heck and popped the whole thing in my mouth. It wasn't long before I realized a super hot is hot...

    SBJ7 lineage...

I'm amazed at how dense these pods are. I had it side by side with a 7 pot infinity. The pods were almost exactly the same size, but the SB7J felt almost twice as dense. The flavor is amazing. It's still too hot for me to eat a whole pod, but I'm working on it. I've been sampling small pieces...

    First ever grow, first pod!

Congratulations, and welcome to your new addiction. Go ahead and schedule time to: look at plants, search for pods, look for insects, stare aimlessly wondering if they'll ever ripen. It truly is an addiction!   Tim

    10-month-old Reaper

I started all my super hots December 26th last year. My reaper plants are about 7 months old. I have lots of pods and have harvested 3 or 4 ripe pods, with several more ready anytime. Here's a pod I picked the other day. They are HOT!.   Tim

    SBJ7 lineage...

I was also assuming the yellow gene was dormant until it appeared in this plant. I know that's the exact color of my MOA Scotch Bonnet pods. All my SB7J pods are the same color as your's Dennis. I like the yellow. I would be interested in finding out if there was much difference in color/heat...

    seeds Success on saved seeds

Those are some good looking ghost pods. I can see why you saved seeds. I always scrape seeds onto a paper towel then twist it up and put a clothes pin on the top. I let it sit on the kitchen counter for 2 or 3 weeks, Then I transfer them into small plastic bags. I've been using this method for...

Thanks for the kind words. I fertilize about every 2 weeks. I alternate between Alaska Fish fertilizer and Miracle Grow all purpose fertilizer. This is not a strict schedule. I let the plants dictate.   Tim

video July 7th video update....lots of color.

This year I'm using BX Pro Mix HP. It's the first year I've used it. I typically use 5-1-1. I really like 5-1-1 and have had great results, but it really labor intensive. The BX Pro Mix seems to be working just as good, with no additional labor. I also add dolomitic lime, blood meal, bone...
