fermenting Ferment help - how's it coming along?

Thanks for the info brother! Let me give you more info.   This mash was chocolate brain strain peppers blended with some garlic and some spices (I believe cumin is one of them). The jar wasn't opened at all, and I sterilized it before putting the mash in. I suppose the ol' sniff test is really...

fermenting Ferment help - how's it coming along?

Hey guys, new fermenter here - I made a pepper mash about six months ago and let it sit in my pantry. The process is done, as far as I can tell, but there's a colony forming on the tippy-top about a quarter in diameter. What do you think?

    Indoor tomato plants being weird

Bottom-watering these puppies - I probably have fungus gnats in my grow setup so I am working on getting those taken care of. I think they have too much water, though - it's the only thing I can think of.

    Indoor tomato plants being weird

They're plenty watered - all the plants get the same watering, and the soil is wet and the pot is heavy.

    Indoor tomato plants being weird

Hello everyone,   I've successfully grown tomatoes indoors for outdoor transplant, and this year I got a late jump because my potting mix for the first round was garbage. I've managed to grow the plants nice and large, almost ready for transplant, but my Super Fantastic variety is giving me...

    Bizarre Curling

Well I gave the plants an inspection with my magnifying glass and saw nothing unusual under or on the leaves. Weird. So, I just stuck them outdoors since the weather is nice and figure I'd let them sort it out themselves!

    Bizarre Curling

It just seems odd since these plants have all been exclusively grown indoors, and it only attacked these two of the bunch - none of the others. Could it really be mites?

    Bizarre Curling

Howdy folks!   So I've been growing a bunch of pepper plants this year, but I've got two that have me totally stumped. Check these out:     The one on the left is a rocoto, and the one on the right is a red bell pepper. They have been getting the same feeding and the same treatment as their...

    Coup's 2017 Grow - Second season!

Hey everyone,   The first garden of my life was a complete success. I harvested so many peppers I don't even know what to do with them, and thanks to the generosity of people like Shorerider in the down under, I am growing an entirely new variety of plants this year and overwintering just three...

    P. Dreadie Memorial Group Grow 2016

Even though my plants were the last ones I started, we got a TON of peppers and used them in several dishes. I saved a buttload of seeds, too!

Texas Indoor Grow (First Time Growing)

I know it's been ages since I posted, but the pepper op is still going on! I recently got a new job so I have been busy lately and haven't been visiting the pepper garden as much as I should. I finally got out there with my little brother and harvested another round, and damnit we have so many...

Texas Indoor Grow (First Time Growing)

In your case you gotta work with what you have available. You're probably better off having only a few plants and a skinny grow tent, but one where you could adjust it upwards as they grow. Better, in your case, to start small and learn what what you do grow and not make the mistake I did and...

Texas Indoor Grow (First Time Growing)

Glad I could be of assistance, InsectMan! This thread certainly is a look at the growing pains of a new grower.   The PVC pipe is probably the cheapest part of the grow tent, and you can cut it however you like. I would use 3/4" instead of 1" since there is no need for them to be so thick, but...

Texas Indoor Grow (First Time Growing)

Quick update for you guys, not much going on at the moment.   Here are some of the plants I gave to my parents and planted in their homemade compost - they are doing very well!     And the harvest...     Meanwhile at my house:

Heat stress, or leaf curl virus?

I went ahead and gave them a hit of Cal-Mag for science and sprinkled out some bone meal for the tomatoes. I haven't watered the plots for about 3 days or so and it seems like the plants are improving a little - perhaps there was just too much water, like you solid7 said.
