soil Should I get cheap soil, and spend a lot on compost tea? or

Pepper,   I was referring to Nightshade's pics, not yours.. for some reason the images you posted won't load on the machine im using now.   I'm sure they are looking great though :)   Here is a shot of my TSMBs 4 weeks in, they sprouted between 4/24 and 4/26.

soil Should I get cheap soil, and spend a lot on compost tea? or

That is what I would expect for around 2 weeks of growth... I would say that is more like starting on the 3rd set of true leaves though, not 4th, those look like the cotyledon leaves on the bottom...   Anyway, I'm really just busting your chops, they look good!

Just a quick update. Potted them up to 4 1/2" nursery pots last night. The roots looked great when I took the jiffy pots off. Two of these are going to some co workers and I will grow out the remaining two. If the weather would cooperate, I would finish hardening them off and get them...

    Odd shaped Bhut Leaves

What are your watering habits? That mix looks really wet, it may not be so much of a deficiency as a lockup from overwatering... Just my 2 cents.

    pests A few aphids...

Partially bury a solo cup near each plant and then put an inch or two of beer in it.  The beer attracts them, then they crawl in a drown.  You have to keep up on it though as rain will wash the beer out.  Remove and debris nearby that may be providing shelter for them, pieces of wood, leaf...

arsenic and lead levels in the ferts we use, its high, to high

I apologize, I think my previous post was mis-read. I meant to point out how the OP was missing the fact that those were the levels in the concentrated solution, not diluted for usage.

If the seedling has not been exposed to much light, ease it in to the light so you dont burn it.  Just keep if a bit further away from the light to start, and then move it to a normal distance in a day or so.

    seeds just got some seeds

Do you have the ability to bring them in to finish in the fall?  You could always start a few, and then overwinter them and have a huge head start for next year as well...

    soil Soil...

You want to use a mix that is quick to drain, peppers like to dry out a bit between waterings.  You don't realy want to let them wilt to much or anything, but a fast draining mix works the best.   What a lot of us grow them in is called the 5-1-1 mix, or a modified version of it.  It consists of...

pics Trinidad Scorpion Moruga, late start from seed progression pics

I'm hoping they produce this year, but time will tell.  I do have a small portable greenhouse, and they will be grown in containers, so I should be able to shelter them in to the fall season if needed.

Hi,   I usually post on GW, but have been getting more and more fed up with those forums.  This is my first real post here.   This is the first year I am growing any peppers from seed, got a late start on these Trinidad Scorpion Morugas.  I started them mid April, and the first one came up in 12...
