    Pics of ripe PI 543208's?

Here's a pic of the pods. You might be wondering why such a small plant and pot that it's in. I had originally planned my grow for the season with 6 or seven plants that are in 5g pots. Then a very generous member here sent me a bunch of seeds. My goal with these seeds this season was to just...

    Pics of ripe PI 543208's?

I can't find any information on this pepper. This was a late bloomer for me and right now I've got a bunch of white pods. I'm wondering what color they are when ripe.

The only place i have to put them inside gets the morning sun. When I brought my plants in last year the pods ripened, but didn't grow any. I had a bunch of 1/4-3/8 inch reapers when I was done. I have a 400w MH setup, so I'm going to give it a try this year.

    Desiccant for powders?

I bought an Excalibur 2400 recently and am having fun with it. I've been making powders of all my peppers and noticed they clump very slightly (more-so on the ones I remove the seeds from). I dried the peppers until they are crisp, and then run them through the grinder. Would adding some food...

I've not had much beginners luck this season, the weather didn't cooperate, pests, lack of knowledge, etc.. It's been hot as hell until just recently and the only place I have to put my peppers was in afternoon sun, so flowers were dropping or not producing at all. In the last few days the...

    miracle grow moisture control-?

I've used garden lime for my peat mix and have not been able to find the answer to this question.  Should the mix age before use, or is it good to go right away?

Storm took a branch off one of my scotch bonnets, advice?

I don't think either of us have anything to be ashamed of., we were just stating what we both have knowledge/experience of.   I have done a lot of cloning and my experience has been much faster and more successful when not using stagnant water.  I will say I have never tried to clone a pepper...

Storm took a branch off one of my scotch bonnets, advice?

No you are not just blowing bubbles, you are creating flow in the vessel. Water gets it's oxygen through surface contact with the atmosphere. In stagnant water the oxygen might be plentiful at the surface, but not below it.   I've got many years of keeping reef aquariums where the temps are...

Storm took a branch off one of my scotch bonnets, advice?

First off let me say I'm not trying to argue with you, I'm trying to understand your point. It is very hard to show emotion, nor lack of it through a typed word.   You said that there isn't a reason to add an airstone to water outside of the 64-76 degree range, but didn't explain why. Do you...

Storm took a branch off one of my scotch bonnets, advice?

You said it it's only true if the water is between 64 and 76 degrees.  Therefore anything over this range would benefit from adding oxygen to the water. I seriously doubt that anyone would be trying to clone a plant under 64 degrees, but many times during the summer it's very easy for the water...

Storm took a branch off one of my scotch bonnets, advice?

How can this be true if the hotter the water, the less dissolved oxygen it can hold?

If you plan to put it in water, your chances are much greater if you drop an airstone in it hooked to an aquarium pump.

    Fresh vs Powder

Thanks everyone. For some reason my pea sized brain didn't think the sweetness would still be there after it dried out.   So is it safe to assume most powders made from a pepper will retain most of the flavor characteristics of the fresh pod it was made from?

    Fresh vs Powder

First off I would like to thank THP and it's members for introducing me to the vast array of peppers out there. Before I found this site, I only knew about supermarket varieties, and of course what makes the news which is usually the current hottest variety.   I had my first Brazilian Starfish...

That sounds delicious.   Any chance you could give the measurements of all the ingredients? I've never made hot sauce and this looks like a good recipe to start with.
