    Avon Barksdale's 2011

Gorgeous plants. I'm definitely trying some Black Kow in Pro-Mix next year. That "Super Chile" at the bottom of Post 22 is maybe a Serrano?

    misc Ladybugs

Hirts breeds a more sophisticated group of Ladybugs. They don't care much for aphids, but give them a filet mignon or a shrimp cocktail with some white wine and they're all over it.

    Invasion!

Hey, he was just living his life, doing his thing. I hate those things too, but scissors might be a bit more humane.

    Can anyone ID these peppers??

They don't look like a Bhut to me, but there are a few different Bhut types out there - so maybe. I grew Bhuts, Dorset Naga and Bih Jolokia in 2009. My guess would be Dorset Naga. Here's a link to my pod pics...

    Pot size

Hope you have a good back if you're going to move around that 9.5 gallon with any regularity, especially when wet. That's a lot of potting soil! Peppers grow great in 5 Gallons, but will get bigger in a larger container - wonderfully in the ground.

    pics July Pepper Plant Pics!

Great looking plants! That overwintered Bhut is spectacular. What are your overwintering procedures? Do you cut the roots back and re-pot for the new season? Mine never look that good, I'm happy when they just survive.

Beautiful! Small farm you have there. I'd go nuts trying to keep track of everything.

    Brain Strain pain

I ate one fourth of a "Brain Strain" the 1st time I grew them. It messed me up for 12 hours. In one year, I got a lifetime supply of pods. For a quickie hot sauce with out cooking - get a 5 oz woozie - add 1/2 teaspoon of BS flakes or powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt and fill with Apple...

    harvesting First Scotch Bonnet harvest

The longer you let it stay on the vine ripe, the more heat it will lose. But the two Scotch Bonnets I've grown (Burkina Yellow & Jamaican Yellow) weren't very hot either. Not as hot as a regular Orange Hab for me. That being said, pepper heat is variable due to many factors. Pick 'em as soon...

    BigPhilMD's Grow Log 2011

Nice looking plants overall - good photo work. That Scorpion is not a lost cause, it will recover. Keep it in the shade, easy on the water and no nutes until it gets better. Plenty of time for that baby to get big.

Maybe a Tabasco if the pods don't get much longer.

cloning Can I feed my babies now with Clonex

Pro-Mix BX has starter nutrients - they'll be fine in that for a while. Let them get a little bigger in cups before you add anything.

    Identify these 2 pepper types

Top one looks like KUNG PAO HYBRID - bottom one could be TABASCO COSTA RICAN.

Promix at Lowes I think it was 2 CF compressed for like $10-12 something

This is what you saw: It's 2.2 CF compressed and that's a great price. Sadly, Lowe's down here in Virginia doesn't sell it. It pays to be close to Canada.

nutrients Wavy curling leaves, over water, or under nutrients?

Another Miracle Grow wonder. For you guys using MG potting soil - don't give your plants any additional nutes. They already have at least 2x as much as they need. Don't over water either. Water your plants when the leaves are drooping and the pot feels light. Check them for droop early...

    Chocolate Bhut Down!

Chile plants are pretty tough, I'm sure it will make a comeback. If your plants see a lot of wind, get those stakes down early people. What I use - HERE. I get the 4 foot and cut in half - so you get 50 stakes for $6. Also a great place to buy containers, pots, flats, heat mats and lots more.

cloning Can I feed my babies now with Clonex

What soil are they in? I never add any nutes until they've been transplanted to cups for at least two weeks. Light will make them grow faster than nutes.
