    fermenting Feedback on Future Ferment

I'm going to use salt @ 5% weight. I'm actually fermenting pickles and they'll be done this weekend so I might toss a Tbs of the brine into the mash to give it a head start. I'lll omit the lemon juice and add it if needed for flavor when processing the sauce. I really appreciate the feedback...

    fermenting Feedback on Future Ferment

So I have about a dozen yellow brainstrains that should be ripe by the weekend, I also have some Bhut Jolokia x Fatali that should be ripe around the same time. I was thinking about doing a ferment that consisted of pineapple, yellow bell, yellow brainstrains and/or bhut x fatali, onion...

I would just leave them alone if they are too badly damaged the plant will just drop them on its own.

Personally I'd say pepperlover, I have nothing but good things to say about Judy. Every type of seed I've ordered have grown true and always great germ rates.

I'm hoping a few will be ripe in a few days, I'll bite into one and see which characteristics were passed on. I'll make sure I get a few self pollinated pods for pure seed =)

food The Spicy Meatless Thread... (ya I went there)

First time posting in the Cooking With Fire section but I figured this one was post worthy. My wife and I currently adhere to a vegan diet (minus honey) for health reasons so I miss out on posting in the Steak/BBQ/pizza threads. Lets face it people think no meat and/or cheese is boring, but this...

    Bad Pepper Year This Year.....

The wind knocked a 14" butch to off a table mid April, it broke off 4" above the soil and had one puny leaf. Now the plant is as big as the other plants with hundreds of flowers and dozens of pods. Mind you these are container plants , but depending on how your soil is they should start to...

health Trinidad Scorpion Butch T - What is wrong!?

I'd say get them outside in full sun, my butch t's are blowing up right now and we have had low to mid 50 nights a lot this week. Yours are looking good though I'm sure they'll start pushing more pods once it's outside full time.

    pruning Topping makes me nervous....

I was skeptical about topping. That is until in april one of my  foot tall butch t plants fell off a table and broke off 2" above the soil, nothing left on it but 1 leaf. Now it has about 30 pods forming and a good 100+ flowers definatly going to push out more pods then the other plants. I'm a...

What to try after Choc. Habs are edible?

I'd just go to the reaper, I'm still waiting for mine to ripen up. I just had a yellow brainstrain the other day that just ripened, and boy was that thing hot! When I first started eatting hot chillies I started with Habs then went to bhuts from there.
