Mitzi's 2019 - Grow, grow, grow your Bhut

Oh, you mean butt as in backside?  I'm English, we say bum not butt so I didn't make the connection.

Mitzi's 2019 - Grow, grow, grow your Bhut

Sorry about the title; it just came to mind.  Warning:  This glog will most likely be EXTREMELY BORING - read at your own risk.  2019 will be my third "proper" year growing chillies.  I'm still at the newbie stage of wanting to try every variety of several species and haven't yet managed to...

    seed-train European Seed train...

I have added the following:   1. Nebru 7 (Chinense) 2018 - ISO 2. Rocoto La Paz Rojo (Pubescens) 2018 - OP 3. Cap 334 Aji Champion (Baccatum) 2018 - OP - I took the last seeds last year so have grown it out and returning some.  Unfortunately I didn't manage to isolate any flowers so there is a...

    seed-train European Seed train...

I have taken the last seeds of Manzano Orange.  Assuming I get them to germinate, I will return some seeds to the train next year.   There are some 7 Pot Burgundy seeds on the train (someone questioned it earlier I think.)

    seed-train European Seed train...

The train has pulled in to this station!   So, question:   I am going to Hungary this coming weekend.  Is it better to bring the box with me and post it local post once I get there OR post it in England before I leave?   I'm tending towards post it here before I leave because I'm scared it might...

    seed-train European Seed train...

Seed bank is a lot more work for the person who keeps it / administers it, as they have to send and receive multiple times compared with the seed train.  Seed train = sending it out once, receiving it back again, then keeping it somewhere cool until the next year.  (For which many thanks...

    Hello from Bulgaria

:welcome:  from England!   I will be visiting Bulgaria for the first time in January 2019.  Do you have any local varieties of chilli?  Obviously January isn't the best time of year but there's nothing I can do about that.

I am going to Budapest in three weeks' time, as it happens.  If the seed train gets to me in time, I should be able to use the local Hungarian post instead of international (assuming Customs don't stop me bringing it in my suitcase.)

Looking for a majical green color sauce

Don't know about sauce but a friend made a lime green powder by using a combination of unripe (green) pods and ripe Lemon Drops.  So I suggest you use a combination of green and yellow chillies (but not an orangy yellow, it needs to be clear or acid yellow.)

    Hi from Manchester UK

I went to school in Bradford.  Lived in London most of my adult life but back now and living up near Emley Moor mast.  Not the best location for chilli growing, and I don't even have a greenhouse.

Hi Luke   A few posts back, Spicefreak said "I'm in."  He could have been talking about the European Union but I think it was the Seed Train.

UK will not be in the EU next year so this may be the last year we can participate; eek!  (I voted Remain; does that help?)

pics Lets see your meanest, most gnarly pods!!!

I am completely in awe of all these beautiful, ugly, scary, exciting, gnarly pods.  Can anyone spare a few seeds for next season?   :halo:

Yes please!  England.   N.B.  In the last two years, scotsbonnet has been the last UK person on the train so has had the expense of international postage whereas the rest of us just paid domestic prices.  If you wanted to change it round so someone else (I suppose I am volunteering by posting...

favorite Favorite NEW TO YOU variety you grew this year

Nagabrain Chocolate!  I expected it to be very temperamental and slow to fruit but I've kept it indoors and it has done really well, although it seems slightly reluctant to set a second crop.  Although the pods are very hot I do get some flavour before the burn hits and I'm planning to make some...
