    in that case maybe some sugar cane mulch or pine bark across the top of the pots to keep the direct heat off the soil. Will probably need a plan for the sides of the buckets too

    O.k you're on a balcony, sorry I didn't notice & dont want to tease you with my suburban block :D - I'd think planter boxes would be good & depending on how much sun they get you could set up a trickle watering system for them

    So I bought..........

    Now i'm thinking those that sprouted may not be peppers - the leaves seem too rounded....weeds, the bane of outdoor sprouting. Of more concern now is the 3 weeks of wet weather & tonights thunder strom....it's starting to smell like last years start to Spring & that didn't end well

    yeah its the root system that seems to let down a lot of chinense. I didn't know myself until i got out of pots & put them in the ground. No more curled up leaves, more & larger pods....all round its just a bigger happier plant. This will be my first attempt at 'middle of the road' 1/2 M high...

    tooheys new is o.k. Have it every weekend when i feed the neighbours. Turkey is $38/bottle at my local barn so manage to knock one of them over every week...not for getting hammered just a few glasses over dinner takes the edge off the day

    Yeah cheap buckets are a good option but wont they eventually get too small & you'll need to pot-up again anyway? My plan is from seed tray to plastic cups (with holes stabbed in) then to cheaply made raised beds

    My boys b'day coming up on friday - got him L.A Noir & on the pre-order list for C.O.D MW3. I think the release date in November ?? Haha, evil-daddy....he's going to be crawling up the walls for 2 months :lol:
