I've got Douglahs sprouting now Outside - 12 > 23 C temps & kept in moist standard seedraising mix in a plastic tray.
I'm thinking the age of the seed (how long its been out of the pod) has a lot to do with germination. My hunan fingertips told me the seeds i got were maybe a week old
At dusk its 7 plants above the ground after 8 days of outdoors germination :O
I remember that first seed took 3 weeks!!

The alpha-nerd part was given to me after spending a lot of time in yahoo chat help rooms - given that i was mostly thirsty while there bentalphanerd came to be. Now i'm googleable & even scored alphanerdz.com who knows where its going.

Well I think I got the seeds in at the right time. Last 3 days have been drizzling with rain & when the sun breaks through its nice & warm. If seeds can't sprout in this I think I'll give the game away :D
On another note: the hay bale raised beds are off the drawing board. Cheapest I could find...
looking good pablo. Don't let them dry out too much at this stage - they'll be doing a lot of root growing & should be kept damp for that (also why they appear to stop growing in stages)I only start to let them dry out once they start putting out little flower nodes.
