Wild Purple Guatemalan Pepper (review of plant/pod)

Very nice review. I purchased seeds for this pepper from Puckerbutt, unfortunately only 3 seeds germinated and none were purple. I gave 2 plants away and the one I still have looks more like a tepin with green stems, green leaves, and round pods. The plant and pods in your video was what I...

    Moruga Brown PL

I have grown this pepper the past 3 years and is one of my favorite brown peppers. As already stated, green to brown is the expected color transition during ripening. I have not had any red peppers from this strain, although have had variations in shape from the typical TSM shape to a shape more...

Anyone grow yellow fatillis last season or growing them this year ?

Ditto to this, except for me the heat and especially the burn is much more intense than a habanero. They can be very tasty (depending on source) and are very prolific. I do prefer some other yellows better though, such as the yellow 7, yellow SB7J, and MOA SB.

    chinense Chilli Tests "Tasmanian Habanero"

I occasionally see orange habs with this shape at local grocery stores. Bought a few once when I was out of fresh pods. They seemed to be very thinned walled and were lacking in heat and flavor. I didn't bother saving any seeds from those pods.

    favorite Favorite pepper?

How do they compare to the regular Caribbean Red Habanero? They sound like something I may want to add to my grow next year. I would not describe the Caribbean Reds I grew a few years ago as very sweet and fruity, but they were pretty good.

    new m&m's

I thought they were pretty good... basically peanut m&ms with a bit of a tingle. As far as flavor, I could not detect any chili flavor. I do enjoy chili flavored chocolate when the flavor of the chili comes through... these m&ms are not that.

    Crunchiest thick walled pepper?

Aji Amarillo! Not sure how well it pickles, but it is definitely a thick walled, crunchy, and very tasty pepper!

GA, thanks for the awesome info... makes sense!

    BBG7 X PDN

Maybe this is my misunderstanding, but I thought an F3 is generated only from a self-pollinated F2? Wouldn't crossing 2 F2s reset the seeds from those F2 pods back to F1?

chinense DNA tests that proved reaper= primo?

I have grown both the past 2 years and found only slight differences between the two. This year I dropped the reaper because I like the primo a little better. Heat wise my primos seemed a little hotter or maybe just more painful. Taste wise the primo seemed to be a little more flavorful, but...

This! Looks like a few of us are playing around with purple plants.   I too am growing this cross from Ford. His website lists them as F2. I have 3 seedlings, 2 are green with no purple in the leaves, 1 is so dark the leaves and stems look black. I will be interesting to see what kind of pods...

Ornamentals what is the best tasting ?

I enjoyed the Aji Omnicolor last year. The heat was a little surprising, a little hotter than serrano, but the flavor was really nice. It is also a very beautiful plant and prolific plant, loaded with purple, white, yellow, orange, and red pods all at the same time... nice!

    Pepper People are the Best

I'm glad the seeds got there the second time. This was a learning experiment on shipping seeds over seas since I have never done it before. So far I have had 2 successful deliveries and one failed delivery. The first one was sent in a bubble envelope and I declared the contents on a customs...

    Your top five peppers

Nice selections! Yellow Dystopia? I haven't tried that one yet... the red version makes a wonderful powder, I bet the yellow is awesome!   Very hard to pick just 5. My top 5 (maybe):   Primo Bad Brains SB7J MOA Chocolate Brain Strain   It's hard to leave out Brown Moruga, Red Bhut Jolokia...
