The HSH is the one on the left. The SP have purple pods when they are starting.

    Start Me Up - 2022

The first Chocolate Bhutlah pods: The HSH and SP Scotch Bonnets are coming along nicely... both have half a dozen or more pods, and flowering is really kicking in. It's getting HOT here... next Mon-Wed heat indexes are going to be over 100. That's what I hate about this southern...

I don't know if you do this or not, but you might try soaking them overnight in distilled or purified water. It's a good sign if they sink, too... means they have absorbed some of the water. Then you might try the old ziploc baggie paper towel trick.

I'm liking the look of those pods on the Tasmanian Black!

It gets really warm here in late spring... had a few days in lower 90s. I bet they take off when summer hits.

    Start Me Up - 2022

I wish. I'd love to go to Europe. They're playing Liverpool... I could take in some Beatles sites and tours... they're also playing Paris, which I've always wanted to see. I'll just have wait until they come here again...😉 Anyway, I now have a pod on my Chocolate Bhutlah. Every plant has at...

    Start Me Up - 2022

I'll post pix just as soon as they get some size and shape to them. I think I'm more excited about them than any of the other peppers I'm growing. Hey Marc, the Rolling Stones are performing on July 11 at King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels. I don't know if that's in your neck of the woods or not...

    OZZZ 2022

Awesome setup! I'm really looking forward to seeing all them pods (and tomatoes) later on. Great job. I know who to come to when I need advice from now on. 😁

    Start Me Up - 2022

My SB MMC seems to be roaring back. Before I put it outside to harden, I trimmed it WAY back... I thought I overdid it, but it seems to be doing okay. The first pod on my Pockmark Peach has emerged: My Chocolate Bhutlah CS is turning into a really nice plant. I expect to see pods on it...

2022 - too early to get started...

That's one beautiful pod! Speaking of next year, I got the Alan Boatman as a freebie this year from WHP. If yours does well, I may give it a try next season.

I am really liking this MA Purple plant. The color of the pods are so cool... I can't wait for them to ripen to supposedly a reddish purple. My datil pods are coming along: As are my Big Yellow Mama: For those of you keeping score at home, the Scotch Bonnets are trying to flower... HSH...

Thanks. It was a nice looking pod, and it tasted good, too. I grew this variety 3 or 4 years ago, and my wife really liked it. It's not nearly as hot as the Biker Billy and Rome varieties I grew last year. Every time she tried to eat one of those two it gave her the hiccups.

    Start Me Up - 2022

I just couldn't resist picking the first pepper of the season. My El Jefe plants have about 15 or so getting there but this one was calling out to me. I am so ready for homegrown jalapenos this year.

They are flowering. I just got the caramel one transplanted. I massively trimmed it, so it's going to be a while on that one. I hope to see fruits forming this week on the HSH and the SP. I noticed the Datil and the Big Yellow Mama now have pods coming.

The second round of peppers are off and running: Front (l to r): Death Spiral, Big Yellow Mama (pure coco/perlite) Back (l to r): T-Rex Mustard (pure coco/perlite), Datil The only hot pepper left is the Caramel SB. The tiny cutting I took didn't make it, but I still have the original...

2022 - too early to get started...

I recycle mine... or I could never afford this pastime year after year.

Yea, especially the jalapenos. No problem, just pinch the flowers off and they will take off growing again. I got too impatient this year and started too early. Next year I'm going to wait until about the last week of January or the first of February. You just can't plant here too early in April...
