better question is where did the rock come from? 

Do you notice any webbing/cotton looking stuff of any kind, typically around the stem under leaves?    In that picture I'm assuming it is the 'grain of rice' sized object in the center of the leaves?   To me it looks like mealybug, but without a better picture I couldn't tell you for certain. 

  Mine is the same way.   "Why do you spend so much time in the garden?" "Why do you need to go on these weekend hunting trips?" "Why do you have to do canning right now?"   Oh but when there is meat in the freezer, endless vegetables, jams, jellies, candies, etc there are no complaints.
