Why California IS and will continue to always be bankrupt!!!

That's the problem with the most (and I mean MOST) Representative Democracy in the World... maybe even in the Galaxy...even bacteria have rights. Although I find it very amusing that in such a free and liberal place... Google controls and watches all, like the Wizard of Cali!

Why California IS and will continue to always be bankrupt!!!

I read a while back that the main reason why California will never get out of debt (it did issue IOU's about a year back...how utterly 'high school-ish' is that?) is that even if they tried to pass reforms at state level, the state constitution grants so much power to individuals (more...

    Some Pod piccies

Those are some really nice pics, Micca! :) How much more of a growing season do you have left in Western Australia? (or is it a year long season)

seeds-germination QUICK! What seeds to collect from Quevedo Ecuador area?

The Gallinazo ones look cool! :) Gallinazo means 'Vulture' in spanish (Literally translated 'really big chicken'). I can see the resemblance in the Gallinazo to the Turkey Vulture :P Really nice pods! Congrats on the haul! :)

    Harrowing harangues of Habanero horrors...

It may have been caused by the aphids...was it a particularly bad infestation? This is a good resource for troubleshooting chilli pepper problems: http://www.thechileman.org/guide_disease.php as is this one: http://aces.nmsu.edu/pubs/_circulars/circ549.html

Any signs of aphids? I've had infestations in the past and they always cause leaf problems...

    Harrowing harangues of Habanero horrors...

Found this bit of info online, if it helps... (Source: http://aaqua.persistent.co.in/aaqua/forum/viewthread?thread=8611) Leaf curl of chilli - Leaves curl towards midrib and become deformed. Stunted plant growth due to shortened internodes and leaves greatly reduced in size. Flower buds...

    heat Scoville Testing?

It's called a 'tongue' :P (or alternatively, 'children') I've e-mailed Warwick's HRI to try to find out exactly how horribly expensive an HPLC test for chillies can be (and maybe resurrect the idea of submitting samples from the Trinidad Scorpion appreciation thread for testing if it's not...

    heat Scoville Testing?

It is a bit on the naughty side not to believe in the validity of the results of an experiment by a group of scientists just because they are from 'another' country (if that was indeed the case). :shame: Though I reckon the more tests done in different parts of the world, the more complete a...

    heat Scoville Testing?

Yup. Oddly enough, though, the secondary testing by Frontal Agritech did produce a similar SHU rating of about 1,041,000. Which leads me to believe Bosland & Dewitt simply didn't believe the previous reports published by the Indians until they themselves did the testing (to corroborate the...

    heat Scoville Testing?

Having just finished reading The Complete Chile Pepper Book (which I recommend as a read), the explanation they gave for the testing of the Bhut Jolokia in 2005 was that they grew sufficient plants (something in the regions of a hundred), planted in a 'sophisticated, randomized pattern, forming...

Anyone from or familiar with southern spain or familiar?

Pimenton de la vera? I'm not sure if it is southern (I think it's from catalunya), but it's the main flavour of good Spanish Chorizo.

Hottest Chilli in the World Being Grown in Grantham, Lins (UK)

If memory serves me, there's a Chilli Festival in the Lake District (about two hours north of Liverpool) late in the summer, which is where his company is located, and he's one of the main participants. I might have a little visit this year and see if he's got any of those mysteriously deadly...

True...I'd forgotten about that. Dorset Naga is a Naga Morich anyways... Cool. How different? Nice infinity plant (now I want to see an endless growing plant everytime...)

Hottest Chilli in the World Being Grown in Grantham, Lins (UK)

If that's the case, is it 'legal' to brand it as 'infinity' and sell it, when it's a 7-pod?

Hottest Chilli in the World Being Grown in Grantham, Lins (UK)

A-hah! I thought it looked like a 7-pod... On the website it says it's a 'selected breed'. Has he crossed it with anything else, or is it a strain of 7-pod?
