Here it is, less than 1/4". Ate it, now I can say I ate an entire ghost pepper in one bite! The biggest was about 3"...so the plant does know how to make proper ones.

Your concern is appreciated. I use the natural wood because it burns for so long, not for its natural qualities. Guess I'm not a purist. Never had a complaint though.

Nothing wrong with lighter fluid......just don't drink it! I've seen those smoke tubes, even tried a metal strainer, didn't care for that one. I like chunks of wood smoking. 

I wanted a '69 as well, 428 CJ actually. This was 1992. Could get a fully restored one for $14K-$17K at the time. But I was just a 16 yr old and that was too much. Got this instead for $5800 and now have about $35K wrapped up in this thing.....while that 428 is now worth $60K! Oh well.
