    vendor pepperworldhotshop.com

Germany based Pepperworldhotshop.com is a shop that exists for many years now and has a quite large product-palette reaching from seeds to pepper-plants, from spices to hot sauces and way more stuff. I've ordered there several times and it always was fast delivery and good product quality. I...

A general discussion about species, but focusing on eximium and cardenasii

Here are some pics I recently did, showing similarities and differences of wilds from cardenasii/eximium-type. Notice: the cgn19198 is in it's second year - last years flowers had "common" purple in it - seems like it has lost the anthocyanin at overwintering indoors and not beeing fed...

A general discussion about species, but focusing on eximium and cardenasii

We've got a facebook group, dedicated specially to cardenasii and eximium (called: capsicum cardenasii/eximium) There are plenty of pics and discussion on that topic. I for instance currently grow cap1491, cgn19198, cgn24332, cap500, wild pepper from bolivia, ulupica from la paz which all are...

I got one plant that was labeled as "cardenasii" which, at the current state of development, looks pretty much like the cgn20497 cardenasii I also have. Will share some comparative shots when flowering begins.

NMSU researchers establish the genetic mutation that allows superhots to get so hot

It's not about scoville, it's about amount of capsaicin, if I get that right. So basically the mentioned breeding efforts would result in a higher overall cap amount, not in a higher concentration in a particular case. However, this would of course raise the scoville rating of pepper powder from...

    Rare Pepper Grows

I just copied my grow-list (notice: this is only the stuff, that already "left the germination-box" some time ago, there's however more to come...) From my perspective, there are only four, maybe five things, that are quite rare/hard to get. Grow List Annuum: - some sort of common Jalapeno -...

    High ph problem

PH-levels above 7.5 can surely be a problem, maybe even leading to a "chlorose". Most fertilizers have a given specific ph-range which they work fine with. Casual fertilizers (as Compo Hakaphos Color-Series for example) already lower the PH-Level by some tiny amount - but since you cannot always...

hybrid [pepper science] cross-pollination matrix including wilds

This Matrix is derived from Pickersgills Polygor. Chileman does no good job on naming sources. ;-) The global action plan ( http://pdf.usaid.gov/pdf_docs/PNAAN940.pdf ) that is mentioned in your link, however is one of the few web-documents I considered worth printing... If "Wild crop...

My current wild #1 is Ulupica from La Paz, capsicum eximium. Nice orange to red berries, more seed than flesh but biting hot and somewhat spiced.
