Ordered from chileplants.com (Cross County Nurseries) for the first time last year.  I ordered 4 peppers (Naga Purple, 7 Pot Bubblegum, Fatalli, and Hab Francisca along with 2 tomato plants.  All arrived when promised and healthy.  Had an amazing bumper crop, with one of the best problems for a...

    vendor ChilePlants.com in NJ

Purchased a 7 Pot Bubblegum, Naga Purple, Habanero Francisca and Fatalli as well as 2 cherry tomato plants in April 2016.     Nothing but great things to say, as the plants are prolific and fruiting, and most importantly, are the plants I actually ordered.   Shipment arrived without issue, and I...

Ghosts or 7 Pots? Help please.

Too funny, aj!  The whole process has been a joy, from hardening the plants received to the harvest I'm enjoying at present.  Having a good problem at this current time, trying to figure out what to do with all this fruit!   Thanks for the kind words.

Ghosts or 7 Pots? Help please.

As this was my first attempt at growing, I've been learning a valuable lesson on making sure one's sources are reputable.  Point taken, and will be sure to not make the same mistake again.   As for the flavor, they definitely do not taste anything near a ghost chile.  They do have a slight...

Thanks for the responses, all.   Most have the tapered shape in the photo on my original post, but there are a few mixed in on the same plants that have the tail like ajdrew mentioned.   See here:

Bought from Hirt's Gardens online as Bhut Jolokia's and Carolina Reapers.  They don't really look like either but they are blazing.

Can anyone ID this for me?

Looked up Jamaican Red's for a cross reference as per Hawaiianero's post. They're close, but do not have the same shape as the peppers in my photos above.  Anyone else care to chime in?

    My first attempt at growing

Up until two weeks ago, I never thought they'd ripen.  Now I should say be careful what you wish for.  Here's a picture of today's haul.

Can anyone ID this for me?

The label from the online supplier said Carolina Reaper but they clearly are not.  They pack a nice punch but not anywhere near the Bhut's I'm growing.   Photo of the pepper in question as well as a photo of the plant itself.   Any help appreciated.   - Dave
