I use a mix of Coco coir, potting soil, worm castings, and perlite. I don't go by parts so much but more by eye when mixing all these soil amendments.

I do the same, but sometimes I just cut the flowers off and leave the stems and leaves, if I like the way the branches are growing.

5 Gal. Nursery Grow Bags are very affordable and has good reviews on it. I've found 25 bags for about $13, cheaper than buckets that are about $3 each.

I use worm castings tea (1-0-0) to feed my peppers. I also use Garden Tone Herb and Vegetable Food (3-4-4) from time to time. 

One of my pepper plants have these weird textures on the leaves. I need help I.D'ing what these white spots are. I highly doubt those spots are mites because I watched it for a bit and nothing was moving. I even squished those spots and nothing popped. Honestly, the spots feel like they're made...

I built a small grow closet out of some cabinet/drawer. One I built 3-4 years ago, and another one a few months ago. I've yet to share it. Inside, I used foil tape, which covers the walls and ceilings of the closet, for reflection. I have one 400 watt equivalent Spiral CFL per closet.

I say go for it. Add it to your compost or feed your worms. I save my coffee grounds in a ziploc bag until I need to use them when I feed my Red Wiggler worms. I say moderation is the key.
